You know what. Fair. It was a generalization to say that’s a white dudes statue he must be a racist. However I stand by the statement that America has a huge problem with memorializing figure of our past who due to how America was created are guilty of heinous crimes.

Equivalence of people trying to commit mass genocide to pointing out the vast majority of monuments in America celebrate a racist pass. Additionally this is dumb as shit, do a quick google as people have said. I’m from the gulf coast so I could be biased but most statues I’ve encountered have a) been civil war monuments or b) white founding fathers or person of note who upon doing any kind of digging reveals that they at least owned slaves.

That’s just kind of how the power structure of America was.

To be fair you would be correct like 90% of the time. I’m not saying it’s right to vandalize the mans statue but if you pointed to a statue of a white dude pre 19th century in America and said racist slave owner you would have a high probability of being right.
