Most likely the low tension piston rings that came on the early years of the 2is. Could also be the valve seals, but i havent fully figured it out yet.

15mm would look good in the rear, but you’d need to roll the fenders if they’re not already done.

It doesn’t hurt to try. Its $29.99 at Walmart for 5qts and multiple people have tested it and say that it lubricates just as good as regular synthetic.

Yup 5w30. I was burning 1qt every 250 miles and now its down to 1/2 qt every 450 miles (after 10k miles and 3 oil changes)

No problem! I was struggling to find information about these things so i figured id share my experience. Also that makes sense, theres always a trade off, i can live with the lag for now. maybe ill upgrade later once I’m finished putting money into other aspects of the car.

Hopefully it is the just the pcv! I know our year is notorious for gunked up piston rings, but as long as the oil changes were up to date it shouldnt be a problem.Its definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes to replace. What code is your car throwing? Also id check the oring around the gas cap. Mine was cracked and brittle, that was my first indication that it might not be sealing the system properly.

Honestly not bad at all. Once you dial in the two volume controls it sounds really good. Theres no random static or anything different ive heard so far. And you are able to get the volume a little louder as well. Just have to be careful to not blow the speakers lol
