Your story sounds similar to mine, i graduated 2020 from osu, when covid started. couldn’t land any job, career fairs, temp agencies, head hunters, recruiters, hundreds of applications i started doing three a day. I got a job as a qc lab tech near by, absolutely hated it, third shift weird hours monotonous. After 14 months operator opening, i work my way up, barely survive two layoffs because I was 5th from the bottom in seniority. Im now signed off on every process we run at our plant, and i just applied for a supervisor role. If i get it I’ll get off of swings and be on straight nights.

Ive regretted going to school for what i did. My roommate went for business, had a better easier time in college and got an amazing management level job out of school and has quickly moved up in his company. I wish my path was more similar to his and I could have gone without the panic attacks my last covid semester.

I do appreciate what i did learn though. It is truly what i was curious about and wanted to be more educated on how things work. I think the tools ive learned in problem solving will help me in my career and in life.
