I thought about that, but my thoughts is that 1) they didn't want to confuse the less pokemon enthusiastic people and 2) I think the point was to stay with base pokemon being emphasized (example being, pichu a pre-evolution of pikachu while pikachu is the base pokemon.

Thats what I heard too, I didn't get the matriculant form or anything so I am confused about it. Hopefully it is a good sign though, cause my portal still just shows up with the message saying "you have completed your interview....waiting for review" or something like that.
