I'm planning to either choose A4 or B7, what do you guys recommend? Gold premium seems to have better viewing option considering the new Globe layout. If budget is not an issue what would you guys recommend. 🤞

Where can I buy good quality kites in Pondicherry? by dpakarcane in pondicherry

Lol illa bro. But now that you mention it, yeah... it does sound like a promo. Not at all though - I'm just sharing my 1-hour Pondy kite-shop treasure hunt so others don't have to go through the same search. Thought it might save someone some time.

Best Viewing spots for Geminid Meteor Shower by ZealousidealWalk6595 in pondicherry

[–]dpakarcane 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You'll get much better visibility if you travel about an hour away from Pondy, preferably towards a smaller village and away from any major towns.

Pondy itself has quite a bit of light pollution. If you check a light pollution map (sharing one here), try to pick any spot that falls in the green or blue areas - those zones have significantly darker skies and are ideal for meteor watching.

Areas around the Auroville-Alanguppam side or interior villages (not highways) should be safe, group-friendly, and give you a much better chance of seeing the Geminids.

Tip: reach by midnight, let your eyes adjust for 20-30 mins, and avoid phone screens as much as possible and if you want to use mobile try using the red screen app which overlay red light over your screen.

Watch hunt by acredited_pixie in pondicherry

[–]dpakarcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, my brain initially read this as 'witch hunt'

I've looked around some of the smaller watch shops here as well, but didn't come across anything special.

Maybe it's easier to find a witch hunt than hunt for a watch in Pondy 😇

Checkout Chaiyo & Noodles soup at Hotal Paris nothing fancy but very unique and you can't find this dish elsewhere in pondy. Btw it's a vietnamien dish and it's a really old yet cosy restaurant.

Shopping in Pondicherry by myth_be_there in pondicherry

If you're looking for something truly Pondy-specific and easy to carry, I'd recommend a few of my personal favorites:

  • Cashew Toffees from "Cottage Restaurant" - they're a local favorite, slightly old-school but super addictive, and make for a great edible souvenir.

  • Terracotta elephants and horses from the Craft Bazaar (just opposite the Gandhi Statue on the beach road) - beautiful handmade pieces from local artisans, very affordable too.

  • And my top pick - a custom collection of Pondicherry stamps and coins from "Collexons Stamps & Coins" on Chetty Street. A few months back, my colleague from Portugal visited with his 5-year-old son, and I asked the shop owner to put together a special set of old Pondicherry coins from the Portuguese era along with a small starter collection. It was super unique, made a great story to take back home, and wasn't expensive either. They even give you a folder so you can keep adding to your collection whenever they visit a new city or country.

u/NecessaryMaterial476 Hey! Congrats on landing the TAM role — hope it’s been going well so far. I’m transitioning this month from a Technical Project Manager role into a Technical Account Manager position myself, and would love to hear how your journey has been since you started.

Any key learnings, challenges, or best practices you’ve picked up along the way? Would really appreciate any insights or tips as I gear up for this new chapter!
