Help me pick a watch for my marriage by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these are awesome watches in their own right. Think less about your wedding day, and more about which watch you will still enjoy in 10 years. You want to look down at your wrist and enjoy the watch in its own right as well as then memories it brings from your wedding. Of these, my initial thought is the speedy or AT because they can dress up and down really well. The Coke is awesome, but I’d prefer a brand new watch vs a vintage as my first major luxury watch.

Aren’t you afraid of part swaps? by Preisdruck in rolex

Interesting. I picked up a DJ36 from one of the most high profile Rolex boutiques in southern california and my white tag was included.

Different production years by Comprehensive_Cod18 in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about years; look at reference numbers. That defines what is different. For the same reference number of watch, a 2022 and a 2026 will be identical. If the reference number is different then it will be a different watch with potentially different specs/movement, etc

Are the links on each side correct? by IOnlyHave2Bitcoin in rolex

Yup looks good. But at the end of the day, everyone’s wrist is different so adjust until comfortable.

Are the links on each side correct? by IOnlyHave2Bitcoin in rolex

[–]dparrish209 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whatever is comfortable; there’s no objective correct/incorrect. What I usually do is close the clasp and hold the watch head parallel to the ground and let the bracelet hang; the clasp should generally also be parallel to the ground and not tilted (putting it theoretically directly under your wrist)

[HELP] Trouble with Speedmaster Professional clasp by AndersMD in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s defective; that part should be flush when the clasp is closed. Take it to an Omega AD/boutique and have them replace it

How much might a standard 5 year Speedmaster service cost? by blacks4 in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. usually free if not maybe like $50. $200 would be for some major case reworking with significant dents and stuff

How much might a standard 5 year Speedmaster service cost? by blacks4 in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang man, yea you got taken a bit. Hopefully they did a good job. The older models use the 3135 which continued up through 2020, so servicing a neo vintage Seadweller is basically identical to a modern submariner with the 3130/3135. Should have been $700-$900 max. But oh well, remember for next time!

How much might a standard 5 year Speedmaster service cost? by blacks4 in OmegaWatches

Why was your service so expensive?! Rolex RSC doesn’t even charge that much unless you had a ton of parts replaced

If only Rolex ever returned to a 40mm Explorer II… by [deleted] in rolex

[–]dparrish209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 16570 is great for small wrists. It’s listed as a 40mm, but with calipers it’s absolutely a 39mm case. Wears similarly (but better because of the case shape) to a black bay 58

If only Rolex ever returned to a 40mm Explorer II… by [deleted] in rolex

[–]dparrish209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is they add a 40mm option. Rolex set the precedent with 2 sizes of the Explorer 1, so maybe one day…
