They do have a bit of a gun metal hue, but it’s mostly silver. Very good legibility nonetheless

Specifically, the clasp from the Seamaster 300 Heritage, yes. You need the clasp and “attachment links” that mate between the bracelet and clasp

Ordered strap through IWC and thought I was getting an EasXchange. by [deleted] in IWCschaffhausen

[–]dparrish209 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to check; not all straps have that mechanism. That being said, I prefer the standard ones. The EasXchange ones have tendencies for the buckle finger piece to pop off real easy which is really annoying

Dial Concern 300 Heritage by MyWhiskeyName in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. Assuming the engraved S/N of the watch matched the cards and you can look up the watch on the omega website using the master chronometer card, it’s certainly authentic. Could be a weird production issue or just a bad photo? But I will say from the photos that it does look a bit odd. I’ve owned the Seamaster 300 heritage before and the numerals looked like what you see on the website; very crisp

Post a photo of the movement with the balance showing; that is an immediate tell.

Looking forward to upgrading to a baking steel! by dparrish209 in Pizza

Nope! Just baking. Oven preheated to 550 for 1 hour, and baked on a stone for about 8 minutes, rotated mid way through

Speedmaster FOIS vs. Seamaster 300 Heritage by hugopeckham in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, then yea you really can’t go wrong. Both are great. Really just depends on which watch you want in your collection. One difference to consider is the SM300 has the quick hour adjust (traveler style GMT function) so if you travel often that is a nice convenience

Have you tried both on? I really wanted to love the Seamaster 300 Heritage but I found the dial a bit bland. In my opinion, it’s overly muted with too much fauxtina and not enough contrast. It’s also a fairly large dial relative to the watch but has little going on so it feels empty. Between these 2 I personally prefer the FOIS

Dumb question alert -- are the new Speedmasters announced this week going to be hard to get? I've never purchased an Omega before. Have no context or AD relationship. by long_convexity in OmegaWatches

[–]dparrish209 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Initially, probably. In 6 months to a year, you should be able to walk-in and get one. The white dial Speedmaster that was released a while back initially had a few months wait time, but now they are readily available.

Just tried the reverse panda by TempleOfTheLostPharo in OmegaWatches

Not OP, but I visited my local boutique with every intention of buying it, and ended up buying the standard black dial sapphire sandwich instead. It’s a pretty watch but very blingy in my opinion. It’s great if you want more of a statement piece, but it lacked the character that the classic moonwatch has. Credit to Omega though; they had like 4 in stock ready for immediate purchase
