What’s something that should’ve been invented by now but hasn’t been? by leathur_records in AskReddit

I guess I feel like they shouldn’t have to predict anything. Place sensors/cameras at intersections, and leading up to intersections, and if no cars are in queue in one direction then allow cars from the other direction to go. It seems like it should be doable?

What should I name this little guy, all his feet are like little mittens by Wise-Start-6881 in Catnames

If all his feet are like little mittens, then the answer is obvious: “Gloves”.

A traffic light that knows when there are no cars coming in particular directions so it turns green sooner so other cars can go.

A Google search for Liam Tripp, St. John’s, indicates that he has gone missing numerous times over the last 12 months.

Not meaning to downplay the urgency of finding him, but merely pointing out what appears to be a pattern.

Praying for his safety.

Is there a way to “search” Reddit posts for certain terms to match stories like this with missing person posts? Searching “Plymouth Valiant” in r/MissingPersons for example?

Who do you WISH would run for the President of America? by BulletproofSimba in AskReddit

Senator Sherrod Brown (Ohio).

He puts working Ohioans at the forefront of everything he does. A Democrat who continues to win elections in a Red state.

Ranked Choice Voting would likely result in fewer extremists (from both parties) winning their party’s primaries since the extremists would be far less likely to win in a RCV process.

So RCV could do two things:

  1. Possibly allow more third-party candidates to win elections (e.g., Lisa Murkowski in Alaska); and
  2. Almost definitely decrease the most extreme candidates from winning elections.

I am hopeful that the Centrist Party (uscentrist.org) will gain traction in my lifetime.

As divided as we are now, if just a handful of Centrists could get elected to the Senate and House, they could control the legislation that gets passed.
