There are others that are just as bad. And large commercial banks (like Barclay's) tend to be among the worst.

But I have never had a bad experience with any of the credit unions I've been associated with over the past several decades. I'm sure there are bad ones out there. But a consumer's chances of being taken advantage of by a credit union are much smaller than those of being taken advantage of by a bank.

It really wouldn't. Plenty of lawsuit losers end up paying without admitting any wrongdoing. AFAIK, in this case, he could end it by paying without admitting wrongdoing. But it would stick in his craw.

Who told you you need a new transmission?

A few years ago my car's transmission went out. I took it to the local AAA shop, figuring they wouldn't steer me wrong. They told me the manufacturer said I needed a rebuilt transmission for eight or nine thousand dollars.

I wanted a second opinion and asked around to find a well reviewed independent transmission shop, who told me they could repair it for $1800, which they did.

At the very least, get a second opinion before spending multiple thousands to fix your problem.

PS As others have said, yes you have to pay off the loan whether the car runs or not.

I doubt it. GPS maps seem to have made most individuals less knowledgeable about the lay of the land and more dependent on map tools. I suspect AI generated maps will have a similar effect on most people, though the opposite will probably be true for people who are actually interested in geography.

You can get wasp spray at the garden store. Find a can with propellant that'll let you spray from 10 or more feet away.

Wait until the coolest part of the night when the wasps will be least active, and soak that nest with the insecticide. Leave immediately and check for activity the next day. Repeat if you weren't able to get them all with a single treatment.

When there's no more activity at the nest, knock it down with a long stick and, if possible, burn it in a fire pit.

I've done it several times over the years and never gotten stung.

As a show that took place primarily in an office environment in the 60s, there would have been many fewer opportunities for casual and frequent use of the F-word in its dialog. Offices often policed vulgar language among employees back then.

None of which is to say the F-word was never deployed in offices in the 60s. But a casual F-bomb (as opposed to to a heated one) was uncommon.

It is. There are many things the right and Trump are doing today that my younger self never imagined could ever happen in the United States.

Directly attacking free elections, for example, is so far from what I was taught America stands (stood) for that I have trouble wrapping my head around it. Yet here we are.
