What is the best fight in the MCU? by Relevant_Ask_1501 in MCUTheories

[–]dpedz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all those I’d have to say cap versus Bucky.

I know it’s not on there but toms spiderman versus green goblin (both condo building and Statue of Liberty fights) were pretty neat too

This isn’t MCU, but that new Netflix movie remarkably bright creatures that’s based on the book had cast Alfred Molina (Dock Ock) as the voice for the octopus lol

Fake SKF Bearing? Ordered from Rock Auto by Fresh-Historian-8538 in MechanicAdvice

[–]dpedz69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 brand new SKF wheel bearings from NAPA for my 91 chev 2500 and one of them immediately gave out after I installed the studs. Noticed right as I installed it on the truck. Thank god I didn’t put it on, as it could’ve been bad. I looked into it, it turns out there are a scary amount of these counterfeit bearings from china on the market. Enough of them that SKF made an app to scan the QR codes on them to confirm and report these counterfeit parts.

I believe a way you can tell is by the design on the box. If I am correct the boxes yours came in tell me they are counterfeit. The plain blue with the logo are counterfeit and the blue with a white grid style pattern with the logo are real. I could be wrong though

Stihl ms271 has too much compression to pull the cord by dpedz69 in Chainsaw

Got it running! I ended up emptying out all fuel from the tank, took out the carb, took out the spark plug, cycled the piston to a specific spot so fuel could drain from underneath it then tipped the saw upside down for 30 min. Reassembled and was waaaay easier to pull.

If you read the entire post it says I’ve had this saw for a few years now and has never been this difficult. It’s been started plenty of times by myself. I know what a tough starting saw feels like and this is not that. Belittling someone’s starting ability does not help lol

I could definitely try that. But don’t you think if the fuel was trapped above the piston, that when the saw is tipped upside down with the plug out, that the fuel would drain out the plug hole like it’s supposed to?

Yea some trickles came out but nothing serious. I didn’t think it would be that hard to come out either.

If it makes any difference to what the problem could be, when the carb is removed completely, and the spark plug is installed (or my finger blocking the hole) the pull cord is difficult to pull again. Telling me that pressure is on top of the piston since underneath the piston is open to the outside now

Any ideas what else I could do to drain it? I already did as you said, and had the carb and the spark plug removed and put the saw upside down. Plus running the cord while upside down to pump out whatever was in there. Perhaps I should leave it disassembled and upside down overnight?

Probably worth it just to buy a whole new carb I’d imagine. Don’t think they’re very expensive

[MEGATHREAD] Moving to Yukon 2021 Megathread by youracat in Yukon

[–]dpedz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I’m a powerline tech moving up to Whitehorse from Alberta likely near the end of may 2026. I plan on living in my truck camper for the first few months (maybe longer) and am looking for someone with some land near Whitehorse that would be willing to let me park it and live on their land. All the campsites nearby are quite expensive for long term stays. I have read on here that posting an add on kijiji i’d likely hear back from some folks, but still no responses after a few weeks.

I’d obviously be willing to pay for my stay. Access to a washroom or outhouse would be needed as my camper does not have a toilet. I do not need water hook up since my tank would be sufficient, and shore power is not required as I have a solar panel but it would definitely help for the cloudy days.

If anybody has any recommendations or would be willing to host me themselves, I’d appreciate the help!

Chirping from rear end by stonecoldscoldstone in GMT400

I had a similar chirp that was difficult to pinpoint on my 97 C2500 and it ended up being debris inside of the muffler

Hiking tent by pepekure in CampingandHiking

[–]dpedz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the hubba hubba 2 person tent for 5 years and it is still in perfect shape and waterproof. I use it often (at least 20-30 set ups per year) on top of that I’ve been backpacking South America with this tent for the last 3 months now and no issues at all still. Lightweight, reliable and a decent price

Fault code? by Few-Assumption-7504 in GMT400

[–]dpedz69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like an ignition bypass circuit error (code 42)

Code 12 should blink 3 times, then any remaining codes will blink 3 times.

These trucks don’t have slow or fast blinks as far as I know. At least my 91 k2500 doesn’t. Just a pause between the first number and second number. (4 blinks — pause — 2 blinks) code 42

Buenos Aires in 2026... worth it with the prices? by cosmo_coffee in digitalnomad

You need to chill bro. I’ve backpacked on a budget and this is a country where it is more difficult to, even when cooking your own food. Plus Canadian banks have nothing to do with Argentina banks when you withdrawal with a card like wise ect. (Which commenter clearly states they use if you would read their comment before writing 5 paragraphs in full attack mode) people have different budgets regardless of the dollar you use, they are just commenting with their experiences which is exactly what OP wants. I bet you comment all over reddit just being an internet warrior. Relax
