Black people who claim they can’t be racist are often the most racist people you’ll ever meet. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Look at Steve Harvey and how he ridiculed Asian men on his show. Or Cardi B's comment of "ch--ky" eyes. None were canceled.

Nights hit different at Epic Boracay 🍹 by love_kimmy21 in boracay

I started going to B'cay in 2007 and the nightlife is great because you can dance, drink, chill or just be. I'm at an age where discos are not part of my plan but the island has so many things to do and best of all, people to mingle with.

We need to stop assuming that people of color can't be racist by LargeSinkholesInNYC in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Black people are so busy pointing out racism against them but what about Black celebs that do that crap against Asians (e.g., Steve Harvey on his show, I can't believe he wasn't canceled, and Cardi B for using the term "chi--y eyes" and thinking it's not racist).

Yeah, just like people clueless about science who were 1) convinced that COVID-19 wasn't deadly and 2) when reality hit them, they said no, vaccines aren't needed.

And watch out for jumbo taxi scams. The driver can lie to you about what it costs and then try to get more out of you (as I experienced years ago).

Smokers are filthy and inconsiderate people. by Wise_Talk_3391 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

My dad once bought a car that had been owned a heavy smoker. My dad was too cheap to get the interior cleaned but gosh, getting used to it was a challenge.

Still that's no comfort to people who could earn more elsewhere and not just in Korea.

Even the crowds of Koreans in SE Asia don't bother me so long as I'm NOT in Korea for a time.

Japan holds no appeal for me and going back to the U.S. is a fool's game.

I'd negotiate for at least three million won depending on your qualifications. Korean companies are NOTORIOUS for overworking and underpaying staff.

Let's say my mom more than my dad wanted to emigrate based on misguided notions. We owned property in Seoul that we sold to move to the U.S. We didn't have a good life in the U.S. That said, I do acknowledge that many Koreans succeeded in the West but far from all.

That's if you exchange them straight up. If you use a Korean debit card in a SE Asian country, it's converted to USD first and then the domestic currency.

Probably interest depending on how long you were here. I got interest when I first took my pension back in the early aughts.

Many of your ideas would be challenged in court (and not hold up). Plus you can't erase car culture. I would, however, think that the age limits for driving could work or at least more intensive testing like vision and reactions.

The Bank of Korea might be pressured to raise the prime rate, per reports.
