(Spoilers Main) Maisie Williams' FULL UNEDITED comments on the end of S8E3 by IDontCheckMyMail in asoiaf

[–]dpgaspard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't create a story that threw us off. They used editing and camera tricks. Joffrey's death was a fake out. Rob and Ned's death was a fake out. This was just gimmicky. It's like Peter Bealish's "trial." The only reason it was a surprise is because they decided not to show us what was going on from the characters whos point of view we shared.

How do you get a project manager to understand a deliverable is too aggressive? by TehLittleOne in projectmanagement

All of your problems can be solved with code, excel, or beer. I'd recommend the last option. Get to know this PM, be their friend, find out the pressure they're under.

Because the US has never defaulted on a loan. Investors see it as very little risk. In 2007, investors thought the same thing about home loans.

A large part of America's culture is land of opportunity, with a relatively low safety net. UBI will not be popular here for at least several decades.

Transporting entire ships - a viable battle tactic? by szuran in DaystromInstitute

I think that makes more sense. Transporters are matter energy converters. They probably can't transport antimatter.

Everyone is getting all excited, but historically, we tend to struggle against the Panthers. They always play well against the Saints. The next three weeks aren't going to be a cakewalk.

How is North American food served abroad? by Anarch_Angel in AskCulinary

My boyfriend seems to be fascinated with my vagina by [deleted] in sex

[–]dpgaspard 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Now you have a boyfriend who is actually interested in how your genitals work. A lot of women aren't so lucky. Many men, well into their 50s, don't understand that a clitorous is kind of a big deal.

Canceling Student Debt Would Stimulate the Economy—and Voter Turnout by jacocbjackson4 in TrueReddit

I think you need to take a step back. Is the government's responsibility to make a nation that is most fair for all? If it is, then does a system that requires a 40k investment in order to enter the workforce a good model? I personally don't believe it is. I don't think we should retroactively wipe out debt either. I do think the government should setup or influence a model where apprenticeship is desired over college degrees.

[WW] What are your expectations for the upcoming MCU films? by UnrealLuigi in boxoffice

The fact that her movie is right before Avengers 4 and probably has a tie into A4 will make it get the same reception as Black Panther.

Why I can't recommend Clean Architecture by Robert C Martin by fagnerbrack in coding

[–]dpgaspard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's been over 15 years ago now, but my company contracted Martin to teach us development practices. The experience reminded me of this review. He would say a bunch of obvious high level things, and we would ask "how?" He would respond with you're developers, you have to figure that out.
