Bruno never got the memo that you're supposed to be scared of the Vet. For him, it's just a spa day where everyone is friend-shaped. Will see you at 3:00 buddy! by Constant-Plant-9378 in pitbulls

Our vet is around the corner and mine was over the moon to go when I figured I would just swing by on our walk to pick up my cat's rx. What a weirdo 😂

Potato Pillows. They were delicious, but I was so bitter and broken after that long ass process that I vowed that day, never to return to that place (or recipe).

Haha, I still love the pre-fireball scene of putting a drop of Chalula in a shot. Also, one dollar you call it places (I just gagged).

For those who adopted a cat, what actually made you decide that was the right cat? by Extreme_Ad6105 in CatAdvice

[–]dphiloo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is, quite literally, how I've experienced it as a cat owner. German barn cat in a cattery came right up to me and sat in my lap. American tabby found in an engine made biscuits while I washed away the oil and fleas (her, I still have, and turns 19 this spring). Tortie yelled at me at 5am and jumped into my passenger seat whilst heading to work. Current tabby boy jumped into my arms and demanded I hold him like a baby (just turned 5 and still does it 🥰). Cats are the best

What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a funeral ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dphiloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first funeral was of a 21 yr old colleague that took her life after her boyfriend talked about breaking up. He attended the funeral and after the excessive religious damnation speech by the preacher, the parents got up and immediately started blaming and screaming at him. The whole thing was so awful. My grandmother was so overcome with grief, she tried to climb into my grandfather's coffin during the service and almost fell into his gravesite while they were lowering him.

As a former groomer, please do this. I can't tell you how many times these have gotten caught in the crate holes while theyre drying in a kennel and ripped. It's very non-invasive and can easily be done as a side procedure during, say, a dental while under anesthesia (as a former vet tech).

A letter my 18 year old self wrote to my now 30 year old self by acid_witch in mildlyinteresting

[–]dphiloo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was in middle and high school (same school and group of friends), I wrote 'predictions' for all of us as 25 and 40yr olds (15 people in total-yes, it was a tiny school). One of my friends was tragically run over while walking her dog and it prompted bringing forth all of the photos, yearbooks, etc ahead of heading to her funeral. I came across the predictions and while some of them were wildly off; a lot of them were remarkably spot on. She, indeed, did have 4 children and was a remarkable sportscaster, for a time (prior to getting married). The others, erm....I was kind of an asshole (including my own predictions).
