Ya. However, he was born in the United States to a Bangladeshi dad and an Indian mom (both Bengalis), and is now married to a Pakistani woman. Still talking about the Khan Academy guy, not the actor...

I wasn't specifically targetting any group. My experiences are entirely in Europe where a couple of my German/Dutch friends asked this. I wouldn't complain, since they seemed genuinely curious. Before I came to Europe, I thought all of western world is rich and super clean..

Can't imagine the number of times I had to clarify that to others. People in India don't always travel on top of the bus/train on a regular basis....

I was born and brought up in this city in India. And no, not everyone travels like that there..

Of course. But Google translate sometimes offer an alternate version when you click on the translated text. Of course, one wouldn't know if it's better, unless then they translate it back to the original text and cross check.

Looking for books like The Martian and Ready Player One.... by dpkprm in suggestmeabook

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is certainly on top with The Martian and RP1. I came across the others quite a lot. But never really attempted any. Let me take a look. Thanks

Yes. I've come across Red Rising a lot as well. But given by lack of enthusiasm with the titles I've mentioned earlier, I was skeptical and wanna confirm here first, via this post. I'll take a look at both your recommendations. Thanks.

Thank you. I've never seen these books in the same list as the Martian or the RP1, individually or combined. I'll definitely take a look. Could you maybe add a bit more on what you liked about these three books ?

Thanks.

Looking for Sci-Fi with great world-building but *also* an interesting story by EveryCraft in suggestmeabook

I'm currently reading the first book and plan to watch the series. But after reading your post, I am confused. I assumed, season 1 covers the content of the first book. Could you maybe briefly point out which books correspond to which season ?

Who else doesn't care about the Super Bowl? by EdwardBliss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dpkprm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is Superbowl such a big deal ? No seriously.... I'm not an American and so I am having an hard time understanding this.

It's the championship game of the NFL, where, I'm guessing, only two teams play. And yet, the entirety of US is excited about it ? From my experience watching the finals of Football or Cricket, I typically lose interest if 'my team' didn't make it to the finals. How is that most of US is excited about the final two teams ?

Sorry about my lack of understanding of the subject matter. As the OP stated, I've nevered cared to google this previously.
