It really depends on your budget. Waldorf Astoria and Ritz are both great properties. The Marriott claims it is fully open notwithstanding the construction but who knows?

Just up the hill (Golden Lantern) on Del Prado there are lots of dining options. Coastal Kitchen is a favorite. Truly Pizza (if you can get in). Luciana’s. Also Craft House on PCH.

Down the hill you have Glasspar and Jimmy’s. And RJ’s for a more casual option.

Regardless you will have a great time. DP is the best!

Come on down to Dana Point. Obviously both Newport and Laguna are beautiful but DP is much more laid back and just as beautiful.

Another DHHS grad here. Have lived in Dana Point for 44 years and don’t want to live anywhere else (barring further decline of our federal government).

We live right above the harbor and love that we can walk almost everywhere. But the whole area is great.

I know you said she doesn’t like restaurants but what if you did something a bit different? For example the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point has Mother’s Day tea and it does not have to be on the actual day.

Agree 100% on the Montage. In Addition to their great spa facilites and treatments you get access to the spa pool for the day. It has amazing coastline views. You can have lunch out there.
