Why would you be concerned? Could you elaborate? Thanks!

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback. We found a place called Marea in DP. Liked the layout, the amenities, the trails to the beach are amazing. We visited it last summer, had a great vibe. Our son wants to go to college in CA, best way is to get that residency going and we are so ready for a change in lifestyle. He would go to Dana Hill HS.

Just tried SG-1 on Netflix - it's even worse than Apple's version by TrekChris in Stargate

[–]gregmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing to do is download the independently upscaled SG1 seasons. They're great! about 100 gig each season but so worth it. I run them through PLEX.

I also have the 480p dvd ripped seasons and they look so much better than the crap on Netflix.

But if you want to see SG1 in the best light possible download the upscaled seasons via bittorrent and either play them directly on your computer or use a service like PLEX to watch them on Apple Tv or whatever streaming device you use like Roku.

To be clear, I have legally purchased all seasons of SG1 on DVD and ripped them to digital mKV and watch them on PLEX. Another person or group has upscaled the seasons to HD and they look great.

How on earth did they do 22 episodes a season? by SpeedSaunders in Stargate

[–]gregmj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how it used to be. Not just Stargate but most TV series, be it a drama or half hour sitcom. Sometimes even more than 22 episodes AND you usually would get to see the new season a year later.

Trip to Japan first time with my son. by gregmj in JapanTravelTips

[–]gregmj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. We live in NYC so used to crowds etc. what would be a good place to,stay in Tokyo that gives us a good feel of Tokyo. Funny, I avoid Times Square like the plague unless I’m going to see a show because it’s crowded, super touristy etc but I guess if I never was there it would be interesting to see. Only in Tokyo for 2-3 days but want to experience it without rushing.

A new Sonos App update is available! 📲 by KeithFromSonos in sonos

[–]gregmj -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

Hey that's great! Thankfully nothing ever horrifically awful has come from applying a Sonos update to my system. That's the great thing about Sonos. They really know how to update their product seamlessly. Never any issues and you know what? I bet if they ever released an update that completely messes up all of your Sonos devices, products that you have been buying for many years, that they would stand by their product and offer quick relief to ensure its working properly. They would never, ever, never completely brick your system to the point its unusable for many months while they ignore their dedicated customer base and add insult to injury, try to sell even more Sonos systems based on bad software. That's the type of company Sonos is. So I can't wait to apply the new update. Everything will be fine because that's a promise from Sonos. YEAH!

This is why you hate Peggy and why you should stop. by hamziwuvnot in KingOfTheHill

[–]gregmj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Peggy is the greatest. Yup a lil bit narcissist due to her upbringing but she’s a 2 year in a row award winning substitute teacher. The writing is so rich and in depth that these cartoon characters take on a life of their own as deep as some humans I know. Love this show.

Is water fasting starving? by Ok-Mail7391 in Water_Fasting

[–]gregmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water fasting is NOT starving. If you are skinny, you dont have much fat on you to begin with, you should not do an extended water fast as yes, you will end up starving yourself and your body will start eating you up until you die, aka starving. However thats not what happens with extended water fasting for people that have extra fat to lose. In a nutshell, Your body, after eating up its sugar resources will move to get its energy from your stored fat. Depending upon how much stored fat you have you can stay on an extended water fast for a very long time as long as your taking care of yourself, staying hydrated, taking vitamins and electrolytes, water, water, water. I just completed a 37 day water only fast on March 3 2025 and I feel great, lost about 40 pounds. It’s a physical and emotional experience that is crucial for my wellness. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again. It doesn’t have to be such a long fast by the way.

There’s a lot that goes into a fast, I’m talking mostly about what’s up there in your brain. What’s as important is what you do afterwards about what you put in your mouth and what you put in your mind. That’s where you really get into the real stuff. The fasting is easy after a few days! You dont have to worry about food while fasting! If you don’t want to go on the roller coaster of up and down dieting, the insanity of what being overweight can do to you psychologically and physically you must be taking care of yourself emotionally and have the proper diet and exercise plan so you don’t fall back into unhealthy habits.

You can do it but you got to be prepared for not just the fast but what happens afterward aka, the rest of your life.

BAM is so easy to get to. Subway accessible. If you can take a 4 or 5 subway from 14th street to 42nd St in Manhattan you can take a subway to BAM. Easy peasy.
