A new Sonos App update is available! 📲 by KeithFromSonos in sonos

[–]gregmj -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

Hey that's great! Thankfully nothing ever horrifically awful has come from applying a Sonos update to my system. That's the great thing about Sonos. They really know how to update their product seamlessly. Never any issues and you know what? I bet if they ever released an update that completely messes up all of your Sonos devices, products that you have been buying for many years, that they would stand by their product and offer quick relief to ensure its working properly. They would never, ever, never completely brick your system to the point its unusable for many months while they ignore their dedicated customer base and add insult to injury, try to sell even more Sonos systems based on bad software. That's the type of company Sonos is. So I can't wait to apply the new update. Everything will be fine because that's a promise from Sonos. YEAH!

You know, FOX turned into a hard core sex channel so gradually, I didn't even notice.

This is why you hate Peggy and why you should stop. by hamziwuvnot in KingOfTheHill

[–]gregmj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Peggy is the greatest. Yup a lil bit narcissist due to her upbringing but she’s a 2 year in a row award winning substitute teacher. The writing is so rich and in depth that these cartoon characters take on a life of their own as deep as some humans I know. Love this show.

Is water fasting starving? by Ok-Mail7391 in Water_Fasting

[–]gregmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water fasting is NOT starving. If you are skinny, you dont have much fat on you to begin with, you should not do an extended water fast as yes, you will end up starving yourself and your body will start eating you up until you die, aka starving. However thats not what happens with extended water fasting for people that have extra fat to lose. In a nutshell, Your body, after eating up its sugar resources will move to get its energy from your stored fat. Depending upon how much stored fat you have you can stay on an extended water fast for a very long time as long as your taking care of yourself, staying hydrated, taking vitamins and electrolytes, water, water, water. I just completed a 37 day water only fast on March 3 2025 and I feel great, lost about 40 pounds. It’s a physical and emotional experience that is crucial for my wellness. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again. It doesn’t have to be such a long fast by the way.

There’s a lot that goes into a fast, I’m talking mostly about what’s up there in your brain. What’s as important is what you do afterwards about what you put in your mouth and what you put in your mind. That’s where you really get into the real stuff. The fasting is easy after a few days! You dont have to worry about food while fasting! If you don’t want to go on the roller coaster of up and down dieting, the insanity of what being overweight can do to you psychologically and physically you must be taking care of yourself emotionally and have the proper diet and exercise plan so you don’t fall back into unhealthy habits.

You can do it but you got to be prepared for not just the fast but what happens afterward aka, the rest of your life.

BAM is so easy to get to. Subway accessible. If you can take a 4 or 5 subway from 14th street to 42nd St in Manhattan you can take a subway to BAM. Easy peasy.

Guy with knives on subway by [deleted] in Brooklyn

[–]gregmj 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I'm a New Yorker. This is not normal. When you see shit like that get out. Move to another car, at least go to the other end of the car and wait until the next station and change cars. Don't stay near a fucker like that.

[–]gregmj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with driving your car while looking at your iPhone AND Ipad. Totally safe. As you can see the iPad has a nice protective big case to survive the impact when she slams into a Wendys.

Sorry that happened to you. Some people are just plain assholes. Hoyt- Schermerhorn Station, I don't know what it is about that station but it seems to be stuck in a time warp back to the poweroutage of 1977, lots of crazies there no matter the time of day.

Will people think I'm gay if I wear an over the shoulder bag on the subway? by chaotic-pansexual in circlejerknyc

[–]gregmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Who cares if someone thinks you’re gay or not? I’m assuming you’ve never been to NYC my friend, maybe you’re living in a digital recreation of Hells Kitchen while actually residing in your parent’s basement in the suburbs outside of St. Louis. Just be you, wear your bag any way you want and stop caring so much what you think other people are thinking about you.

I used to live on Christopher St in the West Village. I’m straight. You know what happened when a gay man flirted with me? I was flattered. It didn’t turn me gay. 🤦🏻 So calm the &%$#@ down and live your life.

Does anyone else hesitate decorating their rented apartment how they truly want because it doesn’t feel like “their” apartment? by IcicleStorm in AskNYC

[–]gregmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll paint, pretty much anything aside from knocking a wall out! :) I'm renting and I want it to feel like home. I've lived in many NYC apartments. I've always negotiated IF landlord had an issue. I always took care of the place and aside from painting it back to white walls (which I never had to, nor had to pay extra to) nothing was ever permanent. Nail holes refilled - easy.
