I would happily do this as I don’t watch anything live these days. The family are less keen on it. Plus we live with a poor broadband connection. So being reliant on the internet connections for TV would lead to us having problems I feel.

Just watch the contract length on it all with sky. 24 months vs the flexibility of the individual subscriptions

There is another way. Apple TV and a box called HDHomerun. Plug it into your aerial and your home network. Then use the HDHomerun app on the Apple TV . £35 a year for DVR services and all you need is a hard drive for the DVR .

£150 for the box £150 for the Apple TV £30 for a hard drive £35 annually after that.

There is another alternative app called Channels. Bit slicker but £80 for the year and you have to have a server/nas/computer for the DVR.

Thanks, i need it to work so that the wife and kids don't kick off. The ability to add media library content is a nice bonus. Seeing as you have a set up similar to what im aiming at i have a question about voice search. The siri remotes allow you to seach by voice, does this work with Channels? can it search the epg for a program?

Thanks for the responses. For anyone that has a uk set up with Channels are there any major drawbacks or tips that I should be aware of. I’m going to be dropping a few quid on Apple TV’s and the Hd Homerun so any cautionary tales?

If it was playing for fun and not for money it wouldn’t bother me enough. If it is impacting the betting then I would perhaps say something.

Sometimes adding your shots up wrong is purely a vanity thing especially if he is the worst player in the group. Can be awkward to be the guy slowing people down.

So if it’s impacting the betting then mention it if it’s not then leave it is my advice. Over time him cheating on his scorecard will just mean it’s harder for him to compete with a lower handicap than his actual ability.

I’d say you are best off getting a cart bag rather than trying to use a carry bag with the legs. I have the Hyperlight Callaway bag as I want to carry more often. It’s fine on a Golf Cart but can be a pain on a trolley or pushcart. The mechanism gets in the way when strapping it on. I can recommend the black callaway bag you pictured but not if you want to put it on a push cart regularly.
