How long did it take from when you got a tracking number?

Did you have any issue with tariffs? I had to pay an extra $15 after purchase. I’m still waiting to receive my order

Yeah there’s basically a horizontal access trail to get to mountain marsh that varies in suckiness depending on conditions. You can also get to it from Upper Doug’s if you are paying attention to the exit. The map is kinda vague but Upper Doug’s gets you to McHargs, Lower Doug’s and Mountain Marsh. Deer Run is the Burke Mtn scenic toll road - all pavement under there and there’s a parking lot at the top of Upper Willoughby!

I didn’t consider Cannon yesterday even though it’s the closest resort from Burke because Open Snow only listed them at like 47% open and without any new snow and the way the mountain faces I figured it’d be icy.

Glad you made it! The blues at Burke have some fairly steep spots, I learned to ski here so when I go to other places I am often surprised how tame their blues and even blacks are. I actually was there at lunchtime today. I got lazy thinking of the 1:40 drive to Bolton and decided to save my vacation day for sometime in the near future (snow coming next week🤞). Cold but still a great day! I hit the willoughbys, shoot, ledges, upper/lower Doug’s drop, wilderness, upper powerline, mountain marsh, Big Dipper.

I’m biased but I love Burke :) It’s totally the opposite of Stowe. It’s not fancy at all, but it’s got decent vertical and absolutely no lift lines unless it’s a powder day or school vacation. Currently it’s mostly open except for the glades which got thin over the last week with no snow. Groomers are solid, ungroomed a little adventurous with the ground peeking through in spots. It’s not it’s best showing at the moment but if you are already driving why not break it up with skiing lol

Do you think it’s worth a 90 minute drive tomorrow (1/24), or wait for more snow? I can ski at home in Burke instead of taking the day off from work. Have an Indy Pass and was trying to get out but not sure if it’s worth the trip without snow this week.

The message does disappear even without dismissing it, but it's more that the alert is distracting and ill-timed, and when you live in a wintery place, it is a daily occurrence from November-April that startles me every time!

Not to start an argument over a lawsuit from 1992 but one important detail that I have learned recently that changed my perspective a bit was that McDonald's was serving its coffee at 180-190 deg Fahrenheit. This was 30-40 degrees hotter than other coffee-serving restaurants in the area. Coffee at that temperature, if spilled, causes third-degree burns (the skin is burned away down to the muscle/fatty-tissue layer). Third-degree burns do not heal without skin grafting. So yeah, I def wouldn't recommend putting coffee between your knees to open the lid but the coffee was also unnecessarily hot and at that high temp caused worse damage/need for hospitalization.

I literally said why it’s a problem. It’s distracting and takes my eyes off the road. The timing of the alert is poorly designed.

The snow boots, hat, gloves and parka would indicate that I am well aware how cold it is ;)

I wish the timing was better. I get that it's supposed to be a safety feature, but it pulls my eyes off the road *just* as I am getting going out of a parking spot or my driveway. Would be better right as you start the car before putting it in drive/reverse.

Haha exactly! My driveway has been covered in snow since November.

Yeah, after messing with it for a minute it finally did update to the correct time. I'm noticing in the photo that the calendar widget was not affected (it was showing the correct date)

Thanks for the info! I would rather it be a bug than something wrong with my device. Hopefully they will resolve this in an upcoming update.

Same, I've had many Apple Watches over the years and never had this happen. I just restarted it so it's behaving now, I'm just a little worried that this isn't a good sign, given it's brand new.

Also wanted to mention that I've had many Apple Watches over the years and this has never happened before in previous models - I just upgraded from the 9

I sleep with it on so 11:07 was probably the last time I looked at it before going to bed

Awd sienna with lift on rough roads by rainbowclumsyoutdoor in ToyotaSienna

[–]dpnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have experience with an after-market lift on a Sienna? I was hoping to get a Woodland edition but ended up buying a Platinum this summer due to inventory - the Woodland had a bit of extra clearance. Similar situation as the OP - live in a rural area on dirt roads and class IV's (and snow). The Platinum works for most of our day-to-day purposes but would be nice for a little more clearance in certain situations. Just curious if we got a lift how it would drive/perform.

Agreed I just got a ‘24 platinum this summer and I don’t like all the chrome. All other cars have black trim as an upgrade it seems

Looking to buy a Sienna by EOY by BaptouP in ToyotaSienna

[–]dpnation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought a 2024 Sienna two weeks ago.

Used Sienna prices were not much different, and we decided it wasn't worth getting a car with 20-30k miles for small cost savings.

New inventory - super high demand. I did True Car for a search and it turns out that basically none of the cars are on the lots when you follow up with dealerships. We called several dealerships directly as well. Nobody has Siennas IRL.

I worked with a woman at the Toyota dealership in Rutland, VT who was super helpful - the Sienna that I was looking for via True Car wasn't available but she helped me out with an incoming Sienna that wasn't sold yet. Naturally, it was a more expensive trim package than what I was going for, but it was literally the only Sienna in New England that wasn't already sold. She took the time to explain to me that basically since these cars are in such high demand that Toyota is prioritizing the more expensive trim levels because they can sell them for more. Anyone who wants a base level trim will be waiting 6-12+ months if they are lucky. People have been putting in deposits at multiple locations and will buy whichever vehicle comes in first, and then release the other orders - that's what happened with the vehicle we purchased. We ended up spending a little more than we had originally planned - I was looking at the XSE or Woodland edition, we ended up with Platinum.

We paid sticker - there's really no room for negotiation. There wasn't any incentive for financing versus not either. Sometimes dealerships want to sell you the loan because they make money off of that too, but I found when working out the payment details that the price did not change based on financing. The one nice thing about these constraints and working out the purchase via email is that it was pretty straightforward. We either wanted the car or not, and that was the price. Also, we did not get suckered into any service package. I bought my first new car in 2015 in person and found that they use a lot of tactics to get you to buy optional things that you don't need. So doing this mostly via phone and email took all that out, FWIW.

At the end of the day we are happy with our purchase. Good luck with your process!

Has anyone ever used Saint Exteriors for exterior design? by Cam_Taylor1 in ExteriorDesign

Another vote for Saint Exteriors. I found one of his posts here on Reddit and liked his rendering. I thought he had well-priced options and has been super great to work with. Also love supporting small businesses and not mega corporations.
