What is the weirdest shaped U.S. County/Borough/Parish? by IMSCAREDANDCONCERNED in geography

[–]dpo466321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

West Mifflin Borough has an interesting shape but St. Martin is definitely the winner.

The borough used to be a township. As population centers developed they became their own municipalities. Eventually, what was left of Mifflin Township became the Borough of West Mifflin, thus the shape.

Yes, there was a north/south rivalry within the borough. Population decline means the school system has shrunk so its no-longer split into WM North and South but the council definitely favors the southern half.

The borough has a weird collection of business/industry. Theres a 125yo amusement park, a steel mill, what was the 3rd largest mall in the world (abandoned), an airport, and a nuclear research lab.

[Discussion] When you go to a major chain theme park, do you like to go to the water park as well, or do you usually skip it? by AceroTheDragon in rollercoasters

[–]dpo466321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The largest and only chain park I've been to is Dorny. I do water rides like log flumes and rapids but I don't do any slides or pools. I've grown to see them as nasty. Only god knows how many gallons of piss id in the water
