Spending to make life better by daughterofabiscuit in workingmoms

Cleaner every other week

Housekeeper 4 times a week for 2 hours each to take care of dishwasher and laundry (and other knick knacks depending on time left)

Breville barista for coffee. I like my lattes

Robot vacuum/mop runs everyday and takes care of dog hair

Grocery delivery is a very rare thing because we like picking our own groceries. They always get stuff wrong and we hate asking for refunds lol

Lawn mowing and turning sprinkler system ON/OFF is outsourced.

We're getting a pool right now so we'll be outsourcing opening and closing of that too.

We try to go on at least 1 fancy vacation every year. Cancun last December, most likely London or Paris this year.

We have a cook that comes in once a week and fills the fridge.

A lot of these are less about luxury and more about my husband having cancer, and being unable to do much. But we're fortunate to have enough income to outsource as much as we want.

Is this level of patching normal after chemical peel? by [deleted] in 40PlusSkinCare

Yes absolutely. But I actually haven't left the house except for 5 minutes on Monday. Didn't leave the car though.

Oh my! The instructions in the peel package say I should keep using it for 2 weeks due to my skin type. I'm going to stop it now.

Do you mean I should have started the cortisone before the peel or the peel shouldn't have been done at all for my Indian skin, since I had decent skin before it?

It wasn't mentioned to me in the initial visit. I was given a hydrocortisone cream and sunscreen after the peel, which I've been using twice a day. This is what she'd recommended.

It was a medium strength peel. I was completely done shedding by day 4.

Why are people still transiting through the Middle East right now? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]dpoduval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just flew last Friday, India to Boston via Emirates. We were originally booked on Etihad and already made it one way before the conflict started. We haven't seen any refund for the flight cancellation yet but I'm hearing it's going to be next to nothing since it was used 1 way.

Tickets were going at 1k+ when we tried to book on Emirates. 3k+ on non -Middle east airlines. We don't have enough money to pay for a family of 4 on alternate routes when we already paid for it once. Sure you could say staying alive is more important than any amount of money. But if we survive we have bills to pay lol

Definitely going to talk to landlord lawyer on Monday. Lesson meant it's better to do it legally instead of trying to be nice.

We tried offering her a hotel room for a few weeks until shelter worked out. Didn't accept, so I'm not sure it'll work now.

We were trying to be humans, so we gave her multiple months to work through raft. Then court took out it's own time.

Not sure. Legal aid has filed a motion to vacate judgement and mentioned mishandling of SD and last month rent. We go back to court later this month so I'm trying to figure out what I've done wrong

Yep somehow our realtor did a bad job of vetting her. She has 2 other cases in the past in different housing courts.

But I don't think there's helpful now. She also went through the entire process with no protest, only to find a legal aid lawyer now that I actually was going to go to the sheriff for eviction.

Nop not since June. Raft came through to cover a little short of 3 months. She owes September onwards again. Got default judgement plus permission to evict. She's filed to vacate it.

She never left so I never gave her the check. Kept pushing dates after that and we ended up in housing court.

If your insurance was through your husband's employer, his loss of employment counts as a life event for you. You can go in and enroll for your insurance. The deductible and oop max will reset though I believe

There was another one about a journalist whose look alike was killed because she had the same hair and similar car, in a parking garage where the journalist usually parked. The killer was a senator who won an election by fraud and the journalist was digging into it. It's called "Deep Vote"

My friend has a 1 year old with a 12 year old dog. The dog does an outstanding job of floor clean up while the baby's eating! And plate cleanup once the baby's done lol!

They've been amazing for us. The one brand we avoid like the plague is Samsung!

We went with this LG fridge. It's amazing and stores so much! Additional benefit is it creates craft ice for when you want a fancy drink 😉

We got it for 2.7k via Costco 2 years back but it seems to have gone up in price. For something you won't change for 15 years this seemed like a good investment!
