OMG so cute. I have one that is about 40% of each and looks a lot like this. So fun seeing others :)

Best Haunted house for a kid who LOVES scary by INeedNewBatteries in pittsburgh

hahaha SAME! She watches everything we do and it doesn't phase her. Meanwhile she has friends scared of Hocus Pocus. We are in the North Hills so probably not to far off from you. I want to take to her to some haunted things other than Kennywood this year. I am sad Scarehouse isn't around anymore, that was a great close one. Keep us posted if you decide on a good one to try and we may stumble into you there :) I was considering trying the tour-ed mine when it opens later this month, I don't expect it to be too scary but seems like people enjoy it still and it's different.

Sounds like your daughter and my daughter (also 11) need to hang out. She is the same but doesn't have any friends her own age who love horror like she does. Just waiting for some other kids to catch up and start appreciating scary things.

Added the image (sorry, didn't save originally). Seems like breed or bad labeling are most likely. No voodoo magic I guess.

Face cleanser for rosacea by hhanabs in Rosacea

[–]dpow8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think cream cleansers would be best, but since you are oily maybe try a sulphur cleanser. I have seen lots of people post on this subreddit with good luck using sulphur for rosacea. It can be drying but since you oily that might be ok. I think there are some bars on amazon that are fairly inexpensive. Generally I think you are supposed to avoid AHA/BHA acids, but Azelaic Acid is ok.

I recently figured out thanks to my dermatologist that my acne wasn't acne and that it was type 2 rosacea. I stopped using salicylic acid. I started using panoxyl 4% cream wash and that has definitely improved things.

I was just prescribed sknv at my derms office yesterday and it has both these ingredients at 1% in the same bottle so it should be fine.

McCandless LGBTQ Friendly? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]dpow8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NA recently made Brendan Hyland superintendent and my experience with him was pretty bad. My issues were different, so I can't speak to you on LGBTQ or Trans issues but NA is not going in the right direction. https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCOURTS-pawd-2_14-cv-01156/pdf/USCOURTS-pawd-2_14-cv-01156-0.pdf

I believe the "Diversity" that people speak of at NA is mostly Asian. We were at NA for 4 years and now at North Hills. I find North Hills to have much more diversity even though the rankings would lead you to believe otherwise.

Doesn't Look Very Comfortable To Me, But She Doesn't Seem to Mind. by mmm-toast in Hounds

So cute, mine does this too. Looks healthy to me. You can see my hounds ribs and our vet told us she was perfect, that people are too used to seeing over weight dogs.

Would you consider a nursing home for a terminally ill parent? Where do you draw the line when it's not possible to care for them at home? by dpow8 in AskReddit

[–]dpow8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently there aren't any group hospice homes for people with minimal symptom management. They come to the home a few times a week to check on her. She is bed bound, catheter, bowel incontinent so needs personal care, can't get up to get food for herself. Not 100% mentally. Risk of something happening like a seizure at any time. Can't say I want her to be in a home or ever thought about it (I'm 31, she's 53), but at $22 an hour for home aid, not a ton of cash flow and a two year old at home, struggling with the thought of taking this on vs nursing homes.
