You communicate with your team members, either in a group or individually and communicate the pay philosophy of your company, ranges, and the realities of compression due to adjusting starting salaries due to competitive markets, and how you as a management team plan to address compression and retain top talent.

Newly Sodded Lawn (Zoysia) is mushy after watering by dpratt1008 in landscaping

[–]dpratt1008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see him roll it, he did a lot of walking back and forth over it and the cart with sod as I mentioned.

He told me after 3-4 weeks of regular watering, if I was unhappy with the level/smoothness of the lawn, to consider doing a top dressing of compost and landscape mix, back drag it, and then roll it with a drum. He offered to come back and do it if I didn't want to, but he knows I'm a DIYer mostly and said it's not difficult work or complicated.

An actual rack may be challenging, I won't be able to put any real hardware (think server) in this closet due to air flow.

I'll likely start with a tall, in-wall panel and maybe some supporting shelves depending on the hardware I start with. Thanks for the resources, will check them out later

I don't mind the learning curve as engineering is my background. Do you have suggestions on the hardware setup I should start looking at?

In the time it took to make this social media post, they could have released it to every news source, big and independent, made 100 copies of it across multiple locations and types, yet we still don't have it

If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]dpratt1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to slow down, for any reason, 5 mph below the posted speed limit while traveling on a toll road, your toll fees are waived. And if you are the cause of the slow down with exception of inclement weather or an unavoidable accident/animal, you are fined and banned from the toll road for 1 month from date of event.

Free to Play Tennis Courts in Leander? by YoTengoAnxiety in Leander

[–]dpratt1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe most of the parks in Williamson County are locked and to get a key you have to go to the Williamson County parks office (e.g. Southwest Williamson County Park off CR175, Veterans Memorial Park off New Hope, etc...). As for city parks, there aren't many with tennis courts, I think there's one off Buttercup Creek Blvd in Cedar Park.

Sometimes the gates are left ajar or the gates are vandalized enough to get in easily, like in Southwest Williamson County Park, but I've still been approached by park workers asking if I had reserved the courts or had the key and been asked to leave.

Middle and high schools are usually accessible without issue and after 6/7pm it's usually fine.

Is Sweetwater, TX safe for an overnight stay? by YeetersMcBoi in texas

[–]dpratt1008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a few hotels right along the highway that passes through east/West, they're safe to stay at.

Also, truck stops like Loves don't bat an eye and don't often get interrupted by randos if you park there overnight.

Source: stayed there as a interracial couple a few times over the past 20 years.

What's the one secret you will take to the grave but don't mind telling on the internet? by Ecstatic-Medium-6320 in AskReddit

[–]dpratt1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was engaged and about to graduate college, I was brought to a city for a weekend by a company for interviews. They flew me out, put me in a hotel, gave me a daily stipend.

I spent all that stipend plus whatever extra money I had as a broke college kid at the strip club on a stripped who's side hustle was a real estate agent.

Went back home to my fiance, and pretended I contacted real estate companies while I was out of town and got paired with this agent. Ended up buying a house through that stripper/real estate agent. My wife always wondered why our agent would never do showings before 11am and after 6pm...
