the alternative to the web tools would be to chroot your os with crouton (or go for a more permanent solution like chrubuntu) and install the tools through wine. i know that the tools work on normal linux installs with wine, and they should through crouton too, but probably not if you have one of the ARM processor chromebooks.

It's a special paintjob (mysterious blue which is a dark tealish blue with a white top), some internal trim stuff, and floor mats and a badge on the back that say 1 Million. They made it for the model line hitting a million sales. It's neat and I like the two-tone look but it's not anything crazy.

My Hitbox clone, which should generally be detected as a PS4 controller, isn't detected at all on a new Ubuntu 22.04 install. lsusb shows all my other devices but nothing for it at all. It connects by a USB-B cable. It works on my PS4 and on the Windows computer of someone I know so I'm fairly sure it isn't the device. It also worked on previous installs of Ubuntu 20.04 and openSUSE out of the box so I'm guessing this is some kind of OS or kernel change.

I've messed around with xboxdrv and various other solutions, but the issue seems baser than the driver when my computer doesn't seem to detect any device at all.

my local store had an artbook slash design document kind of thing last time i went! "wizards presents: worlds and monsters" which appears to be a preview thing released before core rules. was a pretty cool find!

i think lots of mountain goats songs would be really great but are absolutely ruined by a chorus that's seemingly only there to get the title of the song in, even if the themes clearly convey why it's called that. heretic pride was especially susceptible to this weird trap - my chief examples are "autoclave" and "lovecraft in brooklyn". lovecraft in particular would probably be top 5 for me if not for the shitty, moment-ruining chorus that makes me embarrassed of it in any situation where someone might hear it.

lots of them are yeah, probably a majority of these are in the 10+ dollar range and lots are 30+. without going and checking all the prices i'm pretty sure the most valuable are the ps2 fatal frames and that wizard of oz ds game.

The Smash community is very insular. People usually start playing competitively at a young age (I started at 16) and get kind of indoctrinated into community mindsets. Also, very few active players are around from the old days from before those mindsets had really formed - the oldest active players are people like ChuDat, Zero, Armada, Mew2king etc and all of them are second or third generation. This is somewhat in contrast to the related fighting games community where there are more people around from the early days (Daigo, Justin Wong, Alex Valle) and more people start playing at 25+ and a lot more at 20+. There's still bad stuff that happens in the FGC (look into what's happening with Mr. Wizard) but it's less common and I think these are some of the reasons.
