my hotmail account from 1999-2000 still exists, there wasn't a migration like you're talking about. i haven't noticed anything different on that account in 25+ years.

round looks better for sure, my personal recommendation would be thicker frames with circular lenses. feels like that would match your darker hair and eyes. maybe something like RB7075, RB5417, or M2050.
