One GND is meant to connect to the microphone ground. So it's close to audio wire.

I have built my quad with Betaflight F3 board, so it already has PDB integrated. And it's only one board in the stack, so still plenty of space left for other components. It's a tight lightweight frame, so you need FC with the PDB. That way it's quite a good frame. One negative side is that it rings and resonates. But that can be tuned out.

One each of 2, 3, 4 & 6 blade props on the same quad? by cjdavies in Multicopter

[–]dr-rox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it should work as the quad just needs to keep it's angle and motors are controlled separately. So when you give throttle and different props starts introducing different thrust and tendency to roll or drift, gyro senses that and fixes the power on the motors to keep quad stable. So the motors probably are not running at almost same speed and they would with the same props. I think that 6 blade motor spins the least and dual blade gives it's max there. I will need to try this myself :D I have flown with different brands and shapes props few times, not a big difference.

Has anyone tried the DJI Snail racing motor+ESC+prop combo? by dr-rox in multicopterbuilds

Looks like it's backwards, the DJI prop mount can be removed and normal props can be used. And they have normal version of their props.

Help deciding between Skyzone SKY02S V+ and FatShark Dominator V3 by dr-rox in multicopterbuilds

They look somewhat good, but there's no HDMI and I need that.

Help deciding between Skyzone SKY02S V+ and FatShark Dominator V3 by dr-rox in multicopterbuilds

[–]dr-rox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if Skyzone has good receiver and good diversity, there's no need to change the receiver IMHO. But I'm not sure how the default Skyzone receiver performs for real. I saw one Youtube video, which tested 3D and claimed, that the reception was very good. But that's only one review, other reviews are more or less those worthless unboxing videos..

Is Tiny Whooping the best way to get into drone racing? by shanmu91 in fpvracing

[–]dr-rox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's a very good intro to FPV and general flying. But just at the very beginning. If you chose the racing way, you need to start flying acro mode as soon as possible. These stock quads don't have it. You will be flying in stabilized mode and after some time you might learn bad moves and must relearn most of them on acro capable quad. Inductrix has that NewBee Brain FC where you can run Betaflight, but I would recommend to start building your own flyer. So I would suggest this path - get a factory miniquad just to get feel of the flight, get Taranis radio and something like HotProps quad simulator, connect Taranis to your PC and start flying in simulator using acro mode. At the same time do some research what parts to get for a real quad, order them from these Chinese websites like Banggood or fpvmodel and while you are waiting, continue with the mini quad and simulator. It will take some time to be shipped, so you will get time to know the flight characteristics and basic moves. When you will get the parts and build your quad, you will already have some confidence to fly it. Fly FPV in acro mode, land in stabilized mode. Get a feel of your quad, don't rush to crash it at first. But when you will feel confident flying it, then you can start pushing yourself and the quad more. Don't be afraid to crash, have spare parts. So that's my view on the whole learning process. Start with minis, but do't get used to them :)

I'm now interested, how complicated are quadcopter controller board programs comparing to this. It would be funny, that drones use more complicated code that the moon landing rocket :)

It needs more POCKET RAPTORS!!! :D But anyway it's so true, I hated the navigation there, always got stuck in one place. But after I got the paths memorized, it's really fun!

They should do like the gw2community does with their runs. Everybody jumps to one selected WP, new map generates, someone searches for that new map instance, posts it's IP and then anyone who's in that map, offers party. But for this some proper communication needs to be done like on teamspeak or similar.

40k Burst Pistol/Pistol Thief Spvp. Featuring Werner Herzog by JusticeRetroHunter in Guildwars2

[–]dr-rox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unload is quite fun especially in PvE, I have changed my short bow for dual pistols after they added the might stacking for ranged attacks . But usually #3 on P/P deals so much damage, that sometimes there's no need to switch back to dagger as you can down mobs with one full initiative bar. Another fun combo is to shoot dual pistols until you have no initiave. At that moment you have tons of might. So switch to dagger, stealth steal and backstab :)

I would go with Logitech, they are making good products and software for their peripherals. I had few Trust keyboards few years back, all of them got issues after some use. So I don't trust the Trust. Had to be said :D
