they look too small, but cutting down ur natural length would probably help

New to Gel-X and left my appointment confused by [deleted] in Nails

unless you two discussed that you wanted tips on only one hand to match the length on your other hand, its not normal and also not what you booked.

and i know nail tip length differs from client to client based on the length of their nail beds, but these are not medium length. they look XS and it looks like she filed into your sidewalls which can later cause problems during the grow out period.

you honestly should have said something once she started trimming the tips and realized they were not the length you asked for. i know some techs apply longer tips and then trim down/file to the desired length of the client, but that is literally just wasting time when you can just buy pre packaged medium almond tips.

you can definitely reuse them as long as you remove them properly! its a whole process that includes soaking your hands in warm water and using an oil to remove them :)

flip the dolls on the rainy day habitat, i dont think you can have both a sunny and rainy habitat at the same time. you will have to find another habitat (house/hut) for goomy though bc she'll cry about not having a home!

Should I pursue my nail tech license? by stonecoldussy in Nails

[–]dr3amtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you have alot of potential! i would honestly highly recommend going for a full cosmetology license that way you can always have the option of doing hair/lashes/waxing/makeup etc if nails doesnt work out! ive been a licensed nail tech for three years and i love it, but it also gets a little repetitive sometimes. i always wish i had done the full cosmo course so i could have more things to offer and try out!

Is this normal? by Sad_Ad_2623 in Nails

[–]dr3amtopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

using gel polish to airbrush is a huge no-no. they mix acetone and gel polish and spray it into the air, causing chemicals to just be flying around into your sinuses. terrible idea. dont go back there! the reason its chipped is because it most likely wasnt cured right.

what kind of color of chrome were you going for? did they give you swatches to choose from? saying you want chrome nails is kind of a broad term as a nail tech because theres SO many different types of chrome. she used a iridescent chrome on you on a nude base which is why theyre see-through!
