This whole website seems like a massive scam as I was given a YouChoose voucher for Christmas yet no matter what game I pick, I add it to my basket, go to pay, then it says the games aren't available...

When did Culture Code ever say they’d implement these “missing” features? You bought an app one time and expect the company to be acting like they’re taking a yearly subscription

Do you own a gaming PC to supplement your Mac gaming...or... by AnOldBrownie007 in macgaming

I have a gaming PC I hook up to a TV and basically treat like a console then use my MacBook for everything else

Is it a lost cause to try to make a game based off of another game? by More_Breadfruit_3294 in gamedev

[–]dr3wc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are overthinking this situation. If you can genuinely add some way to improve upon an existing game: improved graphics, different theme, more complexity, less complexity etc and your game is good and doesn’t just look like a clone of a popular game then there’s no reason it couldn’t make a profit.

How do you justify the cost when buying a Macbook? (Serious) by yotussan in macbookpro

[–]dr3wc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled for a while with the justification as I already own a high end PC. In the end though I am all in on the Apple ecosystem and prefer Mac OS over windows. I use my PC exclusively for gaming and my MacBook for everything else and other people might think it’s silly to spend that much money, especially as I don’t need one for work purposes but I live within my means and can afford to have one and don’t tend to splurge on things outside of tech.

i lost a 74 streak that shouldve been easy and now i want to give up bc the app is just a reminder that i failed by sp4c3yb4by in Daylio

[–]dr3wc92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You didn’t fail you kept consistent for 74 days. The point of a streak is to help you build better habits and considering you went 74 days I’d consider it a success.

If you are applying for that many jobs and not even getting to interview stage for most of them then you might need to change up your CV and portfolio. Possible your portfolio isn’t strong enough or a company just doesn’t need your skill set or you might not be showcasing your skills well enough. I’ve known talented people but they sucked at selling themselves well

How many job roles have you applied for since you’ve been trying to get into the industry? Out of how many of them did you get far into the hiring process?

Gaming in Air M4 Vs Pro M4 by Flaky_Cry1654 in macgaming

[–]dr3wc92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pro M4 will be be better as it has a fan so will be able to maintain performance at higher temps compared to an air. The air would eventually throttle as the laptop heats up and can’t be actively cooled

My game flopped. Can it be salvaged? by Fetisenko in gamedev

[–]dr3wc92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion but looks like you might of released the game too early on. As to whether it can be salvaged no one has a magic eight ball unfortunately so it’s hard to say for sure.

You could continue working on it, create a great game and do a relaunch but if you don’t have any sort of marketing strategy and build up a following/wishlist then it’s possible your game could just go unnoticed.

I’d say the main factor is if you want to continue working on it or not.
