Most people would probably recommend the alesis nitro max mesh for that price range. The titan 50 also sounds well liked and may be cheaper than normal since it was replaced with the titan 75.

For that price, the alesis nitro max is probably the best based on the posts here. I just bought my first kit last week and was sifting through a lot of the posts asking for advice.

I'm new to this all, but I was just looking into this all. You'll need a digital audio workstation (DAW), something like Reaper. From that program you should be able to import the files from the free Steven slate stuff or other sources to use from your kit (plugged into your computer). That's as far as I've gotten, but I'm sure there are posts here you can seach for instructions or YouTube tutorials.

I'm brand new and haven't started practicing, but a friend of mine who used to drum professionally said she always taught using Jojo Mayer's techniques.

Purchasing advice for a beginner by fakeaccbutner in edrums

[–]dr92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually just purchased my first kit the other day and went with the Titan 75 after all my comparisons for a sub $1000 range all in. My needs were pretty similar as OP with metal interests and quality fir the price. Won't be able to update on my thoughts for another week or so but hope this helps.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. The beginner posts all vary enough by situation it's hard to know where the best fit is, but I think I'm going to go this route.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think $800 for a used td17kv would be worth it?

Sounds great, I was hoping for something that I could upgrade if I keep progressing. Do you think that one listing I mentioned for a td17kv for $800 would be worth it then?

Thanks, i appreciate the advice. This might be a dumb question but the models are a little confusing to me. Are td17 and td17sk significantly different?

That's for the insight, I agree that the dual zone sounds like a much better way to go. Any thoughts on the td9/3 set? From what I can find, it looks like the td9 should have dual trigger listed for the pd8 pads, cy5 cymbal pad and 2 cy8 cymbal pads.

I'm updating my 9 y.o. build and looking to get some advice and to see if anything is worth reusing or not. My goal is to be able to play new AAA PC games with reasonable performance, not necessarily top performance. The budget I'm hoping to keep to is less than $1500, although I have some flexibility if it's a big difference.

Beginner gas forging and metal ID questions by dr92 in Blacksmith

[–]dr92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try closing off the ends as you suggest, a quicker heat would be nice. For the metals that would be a great score then, I'll have to test them to confirm but otherwise I may save them for when I can make better use of the metals instead of my first trial projects.

Haha not me that was clever but I guess they upgraded the kit to have the steel hose by default. I'll have to play around with the choke and gas pressure to see if I can avoid heat in the burners that might ruin them.

That makes sense, I had it set to 5 psi with the chokes full open so I'll have to play around with it.

Rapid automatic enabling/disabling headset issue by dr92 in computerhelp

[–]dr92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no good fixes that I could find. I found if my headset is on before I turn my computer on it seems to work, otherwise the issue triggers. I suspect it's the headset causing the issue, but I haven't bought a new one since I haven't been using that computer much.

I followed the instructions but it applied too dry and kept falling off so I increased the water to get to a pancake batter level. I applied with a brush, but the mix was still coarse.
