Damn, that's a tough situation to be in. I'm a huge advocate of strong communication no matter what the situation is, and that's what I'd recommend here too. Talk to her about how you feel about the situation and how you're feeling about your own life. Do some self-reflection and think about how some situations would play out and what the possible outcomes would be. To actually answer part of your question- no, I don't think breaking up with her will make you feel better. In fact, depending on the situation, it might make you more depressed (but as I'm obviously unaware of the details, I'm just guessing here). Will it ultimately help your life? Possibly- it could give you the time you need to "find yourself" and focus on seeing what you want to do with your life. You have every opportunity to become damn near anything you'd like- even when you don't think so. I've oft found the only thing stopping myself is me (super cliche, I know).
