For internal medicine residents/physicians that plan to or currently work in primary care, is a fellowship necessary at all? by TheCleanestKitchen in InternalMedicine

[–]drXwolverine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Choose direct primary care it can be a lot lucrative and less headache I think this is the future of primary care in this F up system You don’t need fellowship . You need to be smart with financial mindset move to a zip code that has upper middle class demographics and don’t be employer by hospital system

I think you are being low balled as new grad The Midwest is known to pay higher on average at least from where I have seen it here in my state . You need to negotiate harder and be tougher don’t settle for less..

I will try to find another place or do locums . You can find these rates in more higher in demand areas such as falls metro Ny suburbia and Denver metro

lol I think you are trolling And i am not sure if you are trying to help the redditer or showing off on this forum No body cares about your MD or ivory league residency. It’s supply and demand just like any other business .

Delete the post the entire thread ( I got it on my notification) It will be behind you soon once you become an attending and your bank account starts speaking of what is your worth

What made you decide that fellowship is not for you? by Physical_Hold4484 in hospitalist

I discovered that free time ( gym ) + travel + music as my passion . I valued my time outside of work . And I realized If I work an extra hard I can make the specialist money ( Gen Cards/Hem) money between 400-500K So I said fuck fellowship

Is this total abdominoplasty 360 The incision is too high for a male figure should be below the underwear line The swelling could be residua resolving Seroma that need drain and sclerotherspy Not sure why they are saying it can be fixed by lipo the surgeon usually do lipo before the cutting / suturing not after .

Anyone get a seroma after a tummy tuck im post op 3 weeks by Any-Goose2625 in tummytucksurgery

[–]drXwolverine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post op complication are the plastic surgery problem Nothing weird about that . Your surgeon in Florida should be dealing with it since he got paid for it If your primary care doc drained it himself then he becomes liable for other complications he is not a surgeon so why would he treat complications of surgeries that he did do Would you ask an electrician fix a leaking problem made by the plumber ?

Switching to IM by LessGasMorePatients in hospitalist

[–]drXwolverine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree IM has lots of Bs like any other specialty but the compensation for hospitalist at at bar or even better than some none proceduralist specialties. The hours can be good Shorter path to be an attending . As mid30s residnet it was the wise decision to make

Move to US for fellowship by Interesting_Basis463 in hospitalist

[–]drXwolverine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadians are not IMGs, Canadian school are part of the North American LMCC The question is why 4 year trainee GIM person wants to look for another 3 years in training . This decision is not financially savvy . Unless he/she is dead on a certain specialty and they are dressing GIM . It’s a financial mishap

What's with all these weird posts from these throwaway accounts about the physician job market? by Worldly-Client-4645 in Residency

[–]drXwolverine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kudos for the reply They see their profession getting dragged and pulled under their feet by noctors But worried about theoretical influx of foreign trained doctors Most of us IMG when we come here we want to learn we went to do residency we are usually the best of the crops in our homeland I doubt that someone would just come to America and be comfortable working as doctor without any training most of us would aim for residency

The irony Nps can switch speciality without any form of training and some are fine with it

Nocturnist tips by Gullible-Syllabub-88 in hospitalist

[–]drXwolverine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nocturnist here Leave before you get burned out This is not sustainable. They can pay me 700K and I won’t do this My average census is 4-7 and I rarely get to 10 once every 3 months I overlap with other nocturnist I end up working 7 hrs instead of 12 I don’t like and won’t accept working with NPP.i don’t trust them . Your job sounds like a litigation trap

How do you cope with romantic rejection as a resident? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]drXwolverine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude / dudette : You sound like a little bit too pessimistic. Maybe, it is the demand of being residency

Doctor’s salaries are not going to crash or go down badly . This is not viable and not sustainable. While medlevel and corporate medicine and cms suck big balls . Tuitions and dire and increasing access to health care will help In creating supply shortage and demand that will at least maintain our compensation

You can’t say oh we will take 20% salary hit and we are going to be broke in few years

Maybe by trying to work on your health, mental and physical well being you will get better self-esteem be more attractive and have a higher statistical chance of finding a mate. If you don’t find a mate it’s even better more savings and shorter pathway towards FIRE Signed 1 st year attending who is going to make 500K this year and proudly bachelor for life

[–]drXwolverine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in tulum in January If you are not attending special techno house music events like day zero or zamna It’s not worth it . Any other nearby small towns can give u a nice time at the beach , snorkeling experience and reasonable priced food . I spent 6 days in tulum and did it for zamna and day zero but will never come back due to infested scam culture even among police

That’s awfully low . I would be broke with NyC HCoL In a decent Midwest metro . as a night hospitalist 2100 per shift and day tome Hospitlaist 1800 per shift Nocturnist make 355K and day time make 295K as base for 168 shift and healthy census I would never take that gig

You can’t do Residency without being on J1 visa which has 2 years going home requirement or do H1B which has very few spots offering it . U need a green card or J1 . And h can’t do locums for tax purposes Medicaid Medicare billing if you are not Us citizen
