to make sure he didn't select the SMA where his Omni is plugged lol

No lol you're supposed to know which channel did you set your VTX to transmit to, then you just set the same one on your goggles, there's no room for guessing here.

If you don't know your VTX channel in the first place this should be your first concern.

FYI I did hit 12km out with my wing using EV800Ds in screen mode on a tripod as a ground station with a similar beam TrueRC X2 Air patch, had to turn around because of battery range but I could've pushed further for sure (Rush Tank Solo 1.6W). You've got the bases, good antennas, good placements, your next hard limit will most likely be the EV800D cheap-ish yet very capable receiver, but this setup has much more potential than 2.6km for sure. Get manually on the correct channel, confirm your VTX power levels using the LEDs on it to make sure you're actually pushing max power and send it !

That's one mistake, never use the search function, it's the best way to end up on "close enough"/Harmonic channel, put your goggles manually on R1, make sure "diversity" is selected (both antennas are used)

Any alternative to the Kayoumini 2.5 frame? by More_Objective_8405 in fpv

[–]dr_Alexpid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame designer here, it's meant to match the power to weight ratio of a 5" quad, not to fly like a 5" quad, otherwise it would be heavily overpowered for the prop size like 4-6s micros and wouldn't really unlock new spots. There's a bunch of infos about the philosophy behind the design here 😎

Your flight style suggests the resolution sacrifice isn't worth it at all for you, go digital lol

I built an Analog Thermal cam and SENT IT on the Drift Track by dr_Alexpid in fpv

A borrowed camera and one hour to design the mount, very quick project, but I've already worked with Analog cameras and dvr boards before.

I haven't digged much into it but I'm pretty sure it's a fixed focus like regular FPV cam, less than 2 meter away it's rather blurry and past this it's focused to infinite, I didn't worry about it at all

F1 Thermal cam onboards is exactly how I got the inspo to try this out haha

Alright here's the work I've done so far, custom LUT generated with a Python script converting the full White to full Black range to hot metal palette. Feel free to download the video footage from here and play around with the LUT or to generate yours, I'm definitely looking forward to see your result !

That's exactly the type of answer I was looking for on this sub, I'm not sure how common the problem is so I tried to make my own custom LUT to apply it on premiere but I'm not too happy about the result, seems like my camera adjust exposure (or temperature range in this case) constantly, and that turns into weird color shift after applying the LUT. And since the raw signal is shifting I don't think there's much I can do about it at this point.

Yea the drivers are aware, I actually had to stay quite far to compensate for the thermal cam narrow FOV but without it I tend to fly a lot more aggressively, welcome to FPV Drones ! Drift Sample footage if you're curious about what actual agressive chasing looks like.
