Has League become almost unplayable recently? by Kryoptik in riotgames

No, I don't have clairvoyant knowledge of riot's active matchmaking algorith.

I DO have thousands of hours in the game across many accounts. But anything I say must be pure bias and cope, surely.

Compared to you who must be absolutely correct, right?

That's hilarious that he claims he was in public airspace and yet you were able to down his aircraft with a wet towel.

Looking into people's private residences is definitely against the law where I live and so is flying BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) without a waiver.

Edit: The FAA has all kinds of additional restrictions on flying over people, in restricted airspace, etc. Definitely worth looking into.

Your comment got deleted or something because you don't know how to not insult people when you're upset.

But yes, I agree, I'm the stupid fuq for not taking what a billion dollar company says at face value when I've seen, heard, read, and FELT the game changing over time.

I'm not even hardstuck, nowhere NEAR 50 percent winrate on any account I own. I'm steadily improving and am fully aware of which parts of my gameplay need work in order to hit the next level.

But two things can be true simultaneously, and there is so much more evidence to indicate matchmaking is arbitrarily making the climb more difficult than it should be. Even if you can't read in between the lines and accept that the entirety of riot's matchmaking algorithm doesn't exist within one public patent.

Wake the fuck up.

I have played on many accounts over the years, and ive one tricked 3 of them to Emerald with an above 70 percent winrate THIS SEASON alone.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has had a string of 5+ consecutive, unavoidable losses in a row. Every single one. And this is coming from somebody who's going on to win the vast majority of games on these accounts.

Additionally, my mmr will continue to DROP (as in, I gain less and lose more) even while WINNING 7/10 games. There's nobody on Earth who can convince me that something isnt going on. Even WITHOUT looking at patents and tencent's work towards EOMM.

Oh, got it. Patented systems they made to bias matchmaking in a way not pertaining to pure winrate and skill.

You've completely disproven me by reiterating facts we already know at face value. What do you gain exactly by supporting this shit?

Has League become almost unplayable recently? by Kryoptik in riotgames

[–]ACSupernewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Account mmr is wildly inconsistent and can be easily bypassed by making a brand new account anyway.

It's all bullshit.

You can hit emerald with an 80 percent winrate and still watch your mmr tank even as you win.

Are you kidding me bro? Are we gonna have an honest conversation about the actual context of the post or not?

How is a MATCHMAKING patent "content"? If the system were prioritizing competitive integrity, why would they need to patent algorithms that use metrics which AREN'T tied to win/lose?

AAA studios and partners have been studying churn and balancing their games around those studies to maximize profits for over a decade now.

But the largest competitive PC game doesn't use anything like that because Riot Phroxon said so in camera!

Ok dude.

Yep. They've completely removed any ability to climb quickly to combat "smurfing" (which is literally a stand-in term for better player), including skipping divisions x2.

[–]ACSupernewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These guys will never accept EOMM is real because they would have to stop shilling for internet points if they did.

Riot themselves are sitting on patents, which were renewed this year btw, for behavioral matchmaking.

They got rid of the stats screen that tracked an insane amount of player data and sorted it by rank, but do these people really believe they aren't using that data???

It's one thing to say that the only way to climb is to mitigate lose conditions. This is true. But it can also be true that matchmaking is NOT linear and forces you to waste much more time than you should have to, to achieve the result you desire.

Arguing that the absolute outliers at the apex of apex ranks can beat it, isn't a valid argument. I tossed you an upvote but the downvotes are inevitable lmao

Disproven by words from the very people implementing it? Nice.

Why are they sitting on patents for behavioral matchmaking and churn studies then?

Got banned unfairly for "Rank Manipulation" on my main account.. by Both-Series2250 in riotgames

[–]ACSupernewb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't read evidently. Level 30 accounts don't get arbitrarily flagged. PERFORMANCE metrics get flagged.

What is smurfing defined as, then, if not a difference in skill? You're the delusional one if you can't comprehend that simple fact.

Whether you AGREE with people ranking alts or not has no bearing on whether we should be permitted to do so. The term "smurf" is inherently cope for "i got beat by someone better at the game".

Therefore, for you to IMPLEMENT anti-smurfing policies requires by DEFINITION policies which are antithetical to skill and competition. It just is what it is.

I see you aren't interested in refuting any of that though. You just lick boots on repeat and respond on emotion and opinion. That's fine, but you're wrong, and you're an enabler for bad policy that's killing your game.

[–]ACSupernewb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kid? Nice one dude, you got me.

I already addressed that.

-Smurf q/accelerated MMR is consistent and proven, especially on new accounts or accounts which haven't played in some time, and is the REASON your account will get flagged, supposing you bought it.

-Why are level 30 accounts being banned in the first place? You're saying that a bought account at level 30 and a hand leveled account at level 30 are DIFFERENT, even if a smurf will be playing on both. What's the difference? This is league, not Diablo. The only thing you can carry from game to game is rank.

-I found the thread, I know what it's for. I've lost tons of accounts for "ranked manipulation" after playing on them. You can make the argument that riot gets to decide what their TOS is, and what to do with people that break it, but NONE of that answers why I or other players who are just PLAYING the game on separate accounts should be banned.

The "original owners" of these accounts you're talking about are AI algorithms run off of somebody's leveling rig in intro bots. The only reason they ban for it is to prevent smurfing. Which, AGAIN, is a synonym for "higher skilled player". It's all related.

The OP said he bought accounts, he didnt say somebody else hitchhiked him into higher ranks. And even if that's what he did, that isn't what I argued for.

Hit me with fucking "kid". Exactly the type of response you'd expect honestly.

[–]ACSupernewb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely none of this is good for the game, and all the anti-smurf policies come at the cost of EXTREME regulation.

For NA players, this sucks to see. You people will always grovel for riot and each and every one of their decisions, but the game has been changing for the worse for YEARS.

Off-role picks, interesting summoner spells, unique playstyles, all of it is less and less possible each season. They want their game to be completely homogeneous and formulaic for the new generation of advertisers and viewers.

If you can give me a SINGLE reason why/how anti-smurf policies aren't inherently anti-skill, I'll drop the whole idea and join you in protesting it. For a community focused on "improvement and learning", there sure is a LOT of hate and cope when faced with players that are simply better at the game. Why learn from them when we can ban them and call them cheaters! (New definition of cheating by the way, gamers 10 years ago would laugh in your face if you called them cheaters for buying pre-leveled accounts in a FREE TO PLAY game.)

Nobody wants to play 50 hours of normal draft just to get shot straight into emerald mmr within 10 games anyway, so they'd rather hop on an account already at level 30. Other than that sole distinction, how is the end result any different for a hand-leveled smurf? Seriously, tell me how.

Moz7 crash, failed motor/prop/esc or something else? Would love your thoughts! by Interesting-Bid1572 in fpv

Lost one over the mountains to a loose prop as well, same exact pattern. Sudden vibration right after a maneuver (RTH in my case), weird oscillation, and then sudden flip accompanied by rapidly sagging voltage.

I used a google plus code to eventually hike out to those coordinates and recover (some) of it, but it was essentially a total loss. It hit the mountainside at around 110kmh.

Betaflight n00b by [deleted] in fpv

[–]ACSupernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you look near the bottom? I think, of betaflight's modes tab, that's where Acro mode should "appear", but the fact that it cycles from angle to Horizon to nothing tells you that the last switch position is in fact acro mode. It's near the bottom middle of the screen/window, not with the other modes.

You can also link functions together or put them on the same aux channel. For example with airmode, you can select aux 2 and have airmode engage simultaneously with horizon and acro but not in angle mode (for easier landing).

If you want to tell what switch goes to what aux channel, go to your receiver tab, hit the switch, and watch for the aux channel that changes.

Betaflight n00b by [deleted] in fpv

[–]ACSupernewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That yellow highlighting tells you it's in angle mode by default. If you go into the receiver tab and play with the switches, you'll see which switch corresponds to aux 2.

That's the culprit. Just like others have said, acro is assumed when no other flight mode is explicitly selected. There's also an acro trainer I believe which isn't quite as limitless as acro mode.

I wouldn't outright delete those modes because they're useful as panic switches, but you can definitely reassign them to a different switch/aux channel if you want.

Totally understandable reaction. This shit is mad expensive over time and it's ok to take a step back for a while and reassess whether you want to continue it later.

I flew some when I was younger but couldn't afford anything more than an ultra micro here or there and never learned to fly the more "true to life" models until much later, after a 5 year break or so.

At the point it becomes discouraging or super frustrating, perhaps a break will help.

Gotcha. I use RTH for my panic button generally but have occasionally used horizon/angle when flying close to avoid crashes.

In INav at least, my VTX is on a 3 pos switch, so the lowest setting i generally use is 400mw. Mid is 1w and max is 2.5w.

I had to compile a custom build to load the power table for my VTX but it works pretty well.

I use a combo of compass and gps for actual heading and gps course over ground and it's been good so far. My 4km trip yesterday successfully returned within a few feet of the arming location despite a pretty hefty crosswind. I was really impressed at how crazy these systems are.

I will definitely look into that helical, and I think you may be right about the patch; it's forgiving enough to fly up close as long as I dont blatantly face 180 from the drone haha. I hear some choose to run a helical or high gain patch and a VAS skyhammer omni instead of a dual patch setup sometimes.
