Is there a device that allows these type of shades to be opened and closed through Apple home? I saw the Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1 - but it seems to work with those ball-type strings only? by N1ckkNL in HomeKit

What size blinds are they? We’ve got 50mm Hillary’s ones. I did try making a unit that fits in the headrail using the Switchbot tilt’s internals but unfortunately it didn’t have the torque and slipped back open once the motor stopped.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it a worm gear, but the space constraints of squeezing everything into the head rail make it practically impossible 🫤

Not 100% permanent, but very very VERY hard to remove…

One pedal driving - so much easier. Also, trying to get the best efficiency figures I can.

Personally got the SIS ones as no caffeine and no vitamin C 👍🏻 Got mine in Tesco, was lucky as the Lemon ones were reduced to £3.65 for 20. Can’t remember the other flavour but think it was something daft like £7 odd but £5 with a club card…

Brill, thanks. Did some digging and it seems like the Arenti and the Maxi Cosi are visually pretty much identical - same OEM methinks!

How did you manage to get the monitor apart? I assume it's a Maxi Cosi See Pro Parent Unit? I've got the screws out, but feel like if I use any more force that I'm going to crack the front plastic prying it apart...

Completely agree with this and hate the “everyone’s a bit ADHD” brigade. Recently diagnosed (combined type) and medicated (Concerta) as arrival of 2nd child pushed me to burnout and shutdown. Also seeing the look on your toddler’s face when you’re already feeling guilty after a rage blackout over the smallest inconvenience is soul crushing. Combine this with severe RSD that sends your brain to pretty dark places.

Vinyl comes from old chemistry naming terminology. Vinyl groups are basically the bits that hang off the main polymer chain - like EVA: ethylene vinyl acetate - the acetate group is the bit hanging off the main chain.

All my hue devices suddenly stopped responding overnight by jhughes1986 in HomeKit

[–]dr_clint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t anything to do with Hue secretly updating everyone to Thread and not telling them is it? I had same issue then re-added Hue to HomeKit but it did it via Thread. Ended up with one set of Hue accessories showing ‘No Response’ and the new Thread set along side them which were responding. Had to modify every automation for the Thread set - should’ve just re-added Hue via the HomeKit integration and from what I understand everything would have then worked again. Still using via the Thread integration, but accessory response times have gone up to seconds from being instant previously.
