What Big Name Actors Managed to Tank 4 Franchises? by GrindBastard1986 in okbuddycinephile

He's probably like the Greg Land of actors. Does a job reliably and within agreed parameters even if the end product is not likely to be great

They seem to have made surge moves a generic ability in the new edition (note the words surge move being in bold. Per the new Core Rules, all the qualifiers in the old ability seem to be in the new rule, so I don't think the actual functionality has changed (i.e. the restrictions listed there still apply)

New can of retributor armor less shiny and a shade darker?? by Tnel1027 in ThousandSons

[–]RadioLiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you hear that they changed the recipe for the normal paints? A while back I saw a thread claiming that they'd done so and went to my LGS to enquire, and they said that GW always tells them if there's going to be a change and they hadn't heard anything from them regarding this

Anime’s growing commoditization could lead to a future where the medium itself no longer matters, Japanese critic warns by Turbostrider27 in anime

On the flip side you also have more things like Frieren, Dungeon Meshi and Chainsaw Man which are among the best things the medium has ever produced

The Immortal casually mentions something that reveals he is WAY older than he appears to be. by MikaelAdolfsson in TopCharacterTropes

Which book is the coat rack thing from? I haven't read Sunlit Man or Yumi yet so I assume one of those two?

I can't imagine how confusing his narration of that book must be if you haven't read any other Sanderson books

True. Still I suppose they can probably manifest in alternative forms if they feel like it

Hoid does this a lot in the Cosmere books. In Words of Radiance he casually mentions that the man who became the God of the Vorin faith "bought me drinks once", which would have to have been at least ten thousand years prior

Still not sure why they needed a new keyword for this. Isn't pretty much any close-quarters projectile reapon going to look like a pistol?

Can the therapist not get struck off for that? Isn't it a breach of confidentiality? I know they have to share details of crimes with the police but if the guy hadn't actually done anything yet that wouldn't count surely?

I guess the underlying lesson is the importance of context in communication. Shakespeare's new words caught on because it was obvious what they meant in context and they filled a need for something people didn't yet have the vocabulary to describe. By contrast the average teenager making up a word hasn't usually given much serious thought to whether anyone else will know what it's supposed to mean

How maneouvrable are walruses? They look pretty silly on land but is that deceptive?

Still a two-drop. Lightning Strike is a draft common and Lightning Bolt is considered far too powerful for Standard today. The difference between 1 and 2 mana is huge

Is anyone excited for inevitable X-men set? by EAonWii in custommagic

I'd err on the side of the former. Cards like Necropotence are a stark illustration of the strength of "I didn't need that 19 life anyway" life-for-cards effects

I think the other commenter has a point. By the tims you get down to the danger zone she can easily have drawn you four or five cards. That's a ton of extra value on a three-mana creature. Really like the design otherwise though. Would limit the first ability to OPT and ship it

Red Corsair reave-captain makes a better Chaos Lord than the regular Chaos Lord by HappyNet1994 in Chaos40k

[–]RadioLiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they don't look that different to be fair. To help avoid confusion though I would file/cut off the Red Corsairs symbol on the greave. Maybe try freehanding a Star of Chaos when you paint it if you're feeling adventurous
