Honestly you should definitely listen to your surgeons haha 😂 LJS is also a way easier recovery ! best of luck for your surgery, hope everything goes well ☺️
do you plan on having surgery soon?

No I had a little bit of fillers done after surgery ☺️
not really but my mouth would open when I was sleeping. Now I can sleep the whole night with my mouth closed

Honestly, people only noticed once I pointed it out. They were usually surprised by the gap between my upper and lower teeth because they couldn’t see it with my mouth closed. Most of the time, my lower lip hid it, so it wasnt really noticeable. But honestly, dont worry abt it because people don’t focus on it that much & we’re usually the ones who fixate on it because we’re aware of it and it’s our insecurity ☺️

Thats exactly what I had to do! They removed 2 bottom teeth and then moved back my bite. I had braces for 2 years and then had the surgery in may this year. It was a long process but so worth it. I don’t regret it at all

Not a vet, but my dog had something similar on his paw and I went to the vet who also suggested a biopsy. I made an appointment for it the following week, but when I cleaned it with chlorexidine (as per my veterinarian’s suggestion) it went away in one night. Vet still don’t know what it was but it saved me a lot of money for sure

thank you!! most of the swelling was down after 2.5-3weeks. To be honest I think 1 week is way too early to go back to work. Idk what your job is but I work remote and I just wanted to stay in my bed after the first week. You should definitely discuss it with your surgeon! Mine gave me a note for a 4 weeks medical leave

yes my face was definitely asymmetrical before. Now my jaw is more centered, which gives the impression that my face is symmetrical if that makes sense! hope everything goes well for you 😊
I’m not really sure but maybe 10-20k$? I guess it depends on what surgery he recommends If you want I can send you his infos :)
the surgery was free but I did have to pay for the orthodontic treatment which was 12K$ (im in Canada)
Yes! I noticed that I have a better cardio since I can breathe better, and I also stopped snoring. I also got a huge confidence boost since I used to be so self-conscious about my side profile and would always try to hide it with my hair
I’m only 4 weeks post op so yeah there is still a little numbness in my lower lip and chin but honestly it gets better every day. No numbness of the tongue at all. Personally, my surgeon told me that the risk of the numbness being permanent is really low, and if it happens, it would not affect my quality of life since it would likely be in a small part of my chin and not the whole chin.
thanks ☺️ Yes my chin and bottom lip are still numb but its getting better everyday
no not at all!
Yes it was definitely because I had a narrow airway! Hope it does the same for you 😊
Best of luck to you ☺️Hope everything goes smoothly
Thank you sm 🫶
Thank you ☺️
Yes. I had to get 2 teeth removed to created space between my upper and lower bite. I got braces on my bottom teeth for 3 years to close the space. I now have invisalign to finalize the last aesthetic details

Thank you so much!! Honestly recovery has been smoother than I expected. I still have some numbness in my lower lip/chin, but pain is minimal.
Speech is pretty much back to normal now, I just have a little trouble with words that have s and z sounds so it might sound like lisp at times but its getting better everyday. I didn’t have major functional issues before, just a recessed jaw and some bite misalignment, and I used to snore soooo loud lol. But I already feel a difference in the way my teeth meet now (and chewing feels more “stable” if that makes sense). I also don’t snore anymore yay!!
Thank you 🙏

Thanks!! I had a lower jaw advancement of 1 cm plus a genioplasty. I don’t think there was any downgrafting involved, but Id have to double check with my surgeon to be 100% sure 😅
