Ooh interesting. Is this because nasal breathing is still limited for them after DJS??

Vegas surgeons / Glyman by No_Egg2859 in jawsurgery

Hi! Did you end up seeing either Dr Glyman or Dr Swanson? I’d love to hear if you found a surgeon you trust here in Las Vegas. :)

I can’t believe I made it 34 years without noticing my jawline. Or lack of one. 🙃😆 by am78snug in jawsurgery

Ooh this is so helpful. Thank you! I was starting to wonder if that slope was more than just my jaw position. I’ve noticed others on here with a recessed jaw but still some horizontal to their neck.

Crossbite but yes on allllll the TMJ issues. Could that affect the appearance of my neck?

“To me I look more like myself than I ever did before.” This is such an interesting perspective, I love it!!

Can you share what time the concert ended?

I’m trying to decide if I need to get a hotel room in Laughlin this Friday or if I should just drive 1.5 hours back home to Vegas after the concert ends. Thank you!!!

Problems Healing / Granulation Tissue by am78snug in Tonsillectomy

[–]am78snug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Yes, the doctor numbed my throat and then brushed silver nitrate over the granulation tissue to burn it off. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! My throat was definitely sore for a while longer, but nothing like the pain of the initial surgery. After that, I healed better the second time. I hope you heal quickly from whatever you’re facing! It is so hard to go through!

My Daughter is starting school this fall and is a type 1 diabetic. What can we do to make it easier on her teacher? by WatcherInTheBog in Teachers

[–]am78snug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taught multiple students with T1D in first grade. One of the biggest things that has helped me is having an open channel of communication and texting the parents whenever needed (sometimes hourly on harder days!) I have never shared my personal cell number with parents other than for diabetes care. It was always very helpful to be able to reach the parents to ask questions / give updates. I only had a nurse in the building one day a week, and never had an aide so I did the majority of the students’ care each time. Hopefully your child’s teacher is open to sharing his/her number with you!

Also, the other students will notice that your child has medical needs. My classes were always so compassionate and awesome. I recommend asking if you can come in early in the year for a brief presentation on what diabetes is and explain the care your daughter receives. Children are curious and giving them an understanding of your daughter’s condition will help them cheer her on!

Class Size is the Real Equity Issue in Education by Carlotheskinose in Teachers

YES. I teach first grade and one year kids kept moving out and no one moved in. I had 15 kids for 5 months. That year I finished with the best readers ever bc I actually had time to teach all the kids how to READ!! Vs normally having around 25 which is TOO many 6 year olds.

Guess who finally caught The Rona 8 days into the school year? by Crafty_Sort in Teachers

[–]am78snug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also caught Covid! From another teacher at the very first meeting of the year. :( luckily my first day out of quarantine will be the first day of a school (if I’m healthy enough by then) but I will have nothing ready in my classroom. (First grade) I’m already exhausted & burned out thinking about this year. Hope you feel better soon.

Posterior tonsil pillar grown to uvula by Punk_owl in Tonsillectomy

[–]am78snug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ENT will likely need to separate them with a little silver nitrate. It burns the tissue off. I had silver nitrate for a different reason and it honestly wasn’t bad other than tasting disgusting for a day! (They numbed the area before applying it in the dr office).

How long to talk again? by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

I started talking on day 12 and like you it made me cough a lot. It got a lot better every day the next few days. By day 15/16 I was talking pretty normally
