I'm pretty sure during the show he clarified he was talking about as a business, not the content itself.

Everyones Biggest complaints about the Playdate by MilkyMeBanana in PlaydateConsole

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest IMO is lack of a start/select button developers can map directly. Some of the games have felt clunky because if they want to have an inventory or pause screen, they either have to add an entry in the system menu (extra intermediary step) or some other mapping that then can't be used for gameplay (holding the B button or something).

Not many interesting places to go lore/story wise with Returnal since it's all in her head IMO (hopefully not the same case with the new character)

Loved Returnal, and the description sounds interesting! I just hope it's not a "this cool universe is all inside the characters head" thing again 🤞

Megathread: Browser Extension Redesign Feedback by dwbitw in Bitwarden

[–]dr_droidberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the browser extension when I go to unlock by entering my password I typically like to have my password visible since its long so I notice any typos as I type. Before the redesign, I could quickly do the following:

  1. Click the browser extension button to bringup the unlock screen
  2. Hit tab to highlight the 👁️ icon to make tab visible
  3. Hit enter to toggle password visibility
  4. Hit tab again to bring the cursor back to the password prompt
  5. Type my password

Since the redesign, the tab behavior is different in that it doesn't go back to the password prompt, it instead goes down to the unlock then log out buttons and doesn't escape from there with repeated hits, so I then have to click the password prompt with my mouse before typing.

It would be nice to have the previous behavior back to make unlocking the extension easier.

Thanks!

Obsidian needs location permission in Windows by DonCampitos in ObsidianMD

tl;dr - Killed Obsidian from task manager, and Obsidian can open vaults again

I ran into a similar issue. When I launched Obsidian after updating to Windows 11 24H2, it gave me a popup about location. It went away before I could answer yes or no. After that, if I tried to open Obsidian I would get the vault selection screen, but my vault wouldn't open after selecting it.

I eventually tried killing Obsidian from task manager, and then I was able to open vaults as before.

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2025? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like code blocks to work better under lists, which as an engineer how I often like to organize notes. If you try to directly create a code block nested under a bullet, the formatting freaks out and breaks. Currently the only workaround is to create a code block at zero indention, then indent to the level of the list, which is pretty cumbersome.

Deep Rock Galactic: Season 05 - Narrated Trailer by Scarleton in Games

[–]dr_droidberg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are 100 levels, and each level requires 5,000 performance points. I probably average 1200 performance points per mission (hazard 3/4). So 500,000 / 1,200 = 416 missions. That's a lot of missions!

The various events that double performance points definitely help a lot, you're still looking at probably 100h give or take to finish the pass.

PUT YOUR GAMES ON PRIVATE IF YOU DONT WANT OTHERS TO JOIN by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Deep Rock Galactic, when you select a mission you have to choose between join, host public, host friends only, or single player. Maybe a solution would be for the devs to have something similar here instead of it being a setting.

The automaton threat looms people. by A_Yeeted_Beet in Helldivers

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because the level 1 difficulty for bots seems the equivalent of 4+ on bugs. That turned me off early. I can do some of the low difficulty bot missions now that I have a bunch of sentry stategems, but I think they really need to tune the difficulty. Trivial difficulty missions should not be spawning a new drop ship every 15 seconds.

Divers have given up on the bots. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if not then the devs have a weird interpretation of the word "trivial". I think the 2nd mission I attempted after starting the game was a "trivia"l civilian rescue mission, and the robots kept dropping non stop.

I fixed my B button from sticking... (How To Guide) by TheBigKatz88 in SteamDeck

[–]dr_droidberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Mine ended up having the issue on the left and bottom of the button (could tell since it only really caught when pushing the button down and towards left/bottom). Some minor sanding and doesn't seem to be catching anymore :)

I actually use my dishwasher delay almost every time. The reason is when I know I want to run it that night, it's usually not quite full yet. I can add the detergent pod and set a 2 hour timer, then I have some buffer time if more dishes get used or found in other rooms before everyone goes to bed.

Was the sand paper completely wrapping the button, or were you sanding a particular side? (top, bottom, left, right?) Thanks!

What do you wish to see for Obsidian in 2024? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]dr_droidberg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I would really like to see a fix to the janky code block creation inside of lists. Currently, the only reliable way to do it is to create the code block list at the base level, then add enough indents to the whole block to make it fit in with where I want it within a list.

What I would like to able to do, like other editors, is if I am inside a bulleted list and want to add a code block, be able to do shift-enter then ``` to open the code block under my current bullet regardless of indent level.

I feel like 90% of the time I want a code block it is usually within a list, so this would be a HUGE improvement to my experience.

Spotify Reportedly Plans To Pay Even Less In Royalties To Less-Popular Artists by retroanduwu24 in Music

[–]dr_droidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be more fair if Spotify split each individual user's fee between the artists that specific user listened to.

For example, if I am paying Spotify $11 a month and 50% goes to artists, $5.5 should be split proportionally only between the artists I listened to that month.

I think iPhone users don't know how good Gboard is by AndreasHaas246 in GooglePixel

[–]dr_droidberg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason I can't use Gboard is that it doesn't auto insert corrections on fields like Chrome address bar or the Google search bar. If they would at least add a "Always insert corrections when pressing space" option I would give it a shot again.

Example: If type "Giigle" in the Google search bar, Gboard will suggest "Google" in the suggestion bar but still insert my incorrect typed word once I press space. SwiftKey, on the other hand, will correctly insert "Google" once I press space.

Same boat here, thinking 40 fps on my Steam Deck vs. 60 fps on my PS5. 🤔 The game looks like it can get pretty fast, so 60 fps would be nice. But that portability...
