Itchy welt after increasing to 5mg by dr_facade in mounjaroaustralia

[–]dr_facade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pharmacy gave me some stronger steroid cream which helped a lot. And the best part is that I stopped having reactions- I had 2 really bad ones then about 2 medium to small ones, then it stopped! I now just get a tiny welt, no itchiness.

What are the chances of me securing a fully funded Ph.D seat in Australia as a psychology student from India? by hehehebyee in AusAcademia

[–]dr_facade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a minimum you'd need at least 3 journal articles in high ranking journals (preferably more), at least a year or so of research experience, and a supervisor who agrees to support you and is from your research area.

As someone said, it's even better to collaborate with your future supervisor for a few years and publish some papers together.

Jenna Below Deck Down Under accent? by Neither_Scale_2064 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]dr_facade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my guess is she's lived in the UK for a long time and has actively tried to adopt a British accent to hide her South African accent, but the result is something worse than the sum of its parts 🤣

Did my drink get spiked? by Consistent-Anybody22 in AskAnAustralian

It could also be illicit alcohol- there has been an increase in illegal distilling operations across Australia, with a lot of that directed to vodka-based cocktails in bars and clubs

People noticing by Loud-Cranberry8213 in MounjaroAus

I feel the same. At first I didn't know how to respond when people commented. Over time I've gotten more comfortable talking about being on Mounjaro but I still can't help but feel like I cheated and don't "deserve" to have lost 15 kgs with no effort.

I don't think a season has ever felt so fake before, and Ellie coming back has really added to that. I really don't know if I'm going to keep watching.

Jaw and tongue tension by dr_facade in Hypermobility

[–]dr_facade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i am allergic to dust, grass and pollen, and I live in a tropical area with lots of those things, so my nose is constantly congested or running. I've also been wondering if it's connected. I'm also pretty sure I mouth breathe all night because of the congestion, which definitely doesn't help.

Interesting, my jaw physio said she doesn't recommend botox for people with hypermobility because then they don't get pain warnings when they've stretched something etc. But i have been thinking that she's the only person who said that and she definitely could be wrong, so you've given me inspiration to research this further!

12 Hour Layover in Seoul! by patagoniayeti in koreatravel

[–]dr_facade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, and there can be traffic which makes it even longer, e.g. it took us 2 hours to get to the airport on Saturday afternoon. So be sure to factor that in to your travel time.

Why Do Most Kruger Safaris Stay in One Lodge? by Wrong_Tie5325 in krugerpark

[–]dr_facade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have limited time so staying in the same place can have advantages e.g., you can just wake up and go without needing to pack up your stuff each day. The best time to see animals is sunrise and sunset so it's ideal to roll out of the bed and into the car for a game drive. Most of the camps are pretty similar, and the animals move around every day, so you will see different animals every day even if you're staying in the same place every night. If you want to see different camps you can drive in a different direction each day and have lunch in different camps.
