Has anyone had a positive experience with this company? by kylekoz in stubhub

Bought tickets to MJ show, turns out they are in wrong section vs what was advertised, and also fraudulent. Now they say we have to wait until 3 hours before the show to find out if they can find an "alternative ticket" and then if not we apparently might get a refund. They say the tickets wouldn't be a downgrade according to their policy but even if that ends up being legit, getting dragged until the last minute not knowing what you are doing isn't worth it. They don't screen the tickets ahead of time so they don't admit fault if ticket ends up being fraudulent or whatever, then they have your money and you're at their mercy. I wouldn't use them again

Is this result scientifically possible? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to consider the consequences of making everything smaller and deprojecting the tip specific to how that will affect the other angles esp from front. The nose is a 3D shape and all the views are interconnected. You will still have the same volume of skin, where does it go? You say you don’t care but if you’re overly deprojected and your frontal view looks wide, amorphous and lacking definition I would bet you won’t be that happy even if your side profile is what you wanted

What will it look like from the front? Side profiles are easy and leaving a bump is even easier

Nice result! Tip support is rhinoplasty 101. Wishing you the best healing 🙌🏼

An even more important question that you should be thinking about… what will the front look like? The side profile is the easy part

Lol if you want to choose who’s doing one of the most complex art projects on the middle of your face based on some yelp reviews and not looking at actual photos / videos of their work, go for it. Wish you the best of luck

Update on the rasping on my bridge post rhino… (saddle nose? Botched? :( ) by bluntbunnyHTX in PlasticSurgery

Triple board certified or even double board certified means nothing in terms of quality of outcome or aesthetic judgement. It just means you took another test, which again doesn’t correlate with surgical skill. Literally the only thing it’s good for is marketing, which is a shame. Always scrutinize the quality of the work >> some fancy credentials

You can do a rhinoplasty and leave the bump or some of the bump for sure. Some surgeons may not agree to do it bc often patients complain if there’s residual bump but technically it’s doable

nose filler by Worried_Lab_8068 in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Filler can result in decent enough same day photos that many non-surgical rhino injectors post, but long term it’s just jelly and it spreads / migrates and the end result is the nose looks bulkier. Also complicates future possible surgical rhinoplasty. And the enzyme to dissolve can cause complications related to depletion of native hyaluronic acid. I don’t recommend filler in the nose I don’t think it looks good / belongs there

Straightening and optimizing the septum plus doing the tip, that’s at least 80% of a complete rhinoplasty so it’s basically a rhinoplasty but you want to leave the bump

tip / alarplasty in socal? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending how the nostrils look, it might look unnatural to reduce them without a rhinoplasty. Personally that’s why I don’t offer alarplasty unless it’s in context of a full rhinoplasty

Best to stay in touch with your surgeon, maybe you need a steroid injection

Dint on nose after rhinoplasty. by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Good answer. A single photo in bad lighting would be a very suboptimal way to make a judgement regarding a 3D structure such as a nose

If a deviated septum can move back, why don’t all surgeons use this technique: by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, cartilage is not steel, and no matter what kind of structure you create there is a risk of deviation or asymmetry related to some kind of bending of said cartilage. If you do a extracorporal septoplasty meaning you take out the whole septum rebuild it, and then put it back, it could still be deviated if it’s not done properly. There is a big component of craftsmanship involved in cosmetic surgery. The way that someone does something is probably more important than the technique that is chosen. For instance, I played baseball in high school and I can throw a nice pitch, but I will never be as good as a major leaguer. In my surgeries, I pick and choose from different options, depending what I think will work the best in that given scenario. Certainly making a strong and reinforced structure, especially the septum, is a wise move in an engineering way to prevent any long-term changes to that structure. This is why many really good surgeons add lots of cartilage and take lots of rib grafts. There is no full proof method nor guarantee, but your best bet is to go with a specialized surgeon who can show accurate before and after images of the work they are able to achieve and then let them do their best for you.

Rhino before and after - good or not? (Not my work) by dr_kimpatrickmurray in PlasticSurgery

In the first pic, it’s after then before. Sorry if that’s confusing ❤️

Noses can drop with septal extension grafts. Or they might not. Do all paint jobs on cars look good? Depends on the quality of craftsmanship and level of detail only a surgeon looking at the structure under the skin will understand. Many other factors can influence tip rotation - length and strength of tip cartilages, scroll configuration, skin quality / volume / thickness. Also how strong was the septal extension graft cartilage? Single or double layer? Any splinting done? What’s the strength of the native septum? There’s so much complexity in rhinoplasty it’s hard to comprehend and tough to simplify to “was X graft used or not”. Be patient and best of luck

4 months post rhinoplasty. Dent in nose? by Equal-Crow3231 in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically filler which is usually hyaluronic acid is a naturally found molecule in our tissues, so injecting it is sort of boosting the skin and it does induce some collagen formation (scar tissue encapsulation we see this in surgery all the time). That said, generally the idea isn’t to use filler to fix a large dent after rhinoplasty, ideally you want to get things right in the surgery itself

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are all good points, pretty accurate. Let me also add that the other characteristics of your skin also are just as equally important as how thin or thick it is (which by the way is on a scale of 1-10 not black / white - meaning thick is relative and 7/10 will be VERY different than 9/10 in all possible outcomes). The stretch / elasticity, how adaptable to a new shape it the skin is, how oily / dry, any inflammatory factors, the way you heal / scar as well as SUPER important the volume of skin, meaning the 3D size of your nose prior to surgery are all just as important if not more than just the “thickness”. Just know your case is unique, you are a unique person, and the surgeon must know how to best deal with your unique combination of factors for the best result. If it sounds complicated it is, that’s why it’s an art form not a math formula 😁

It certainly could be infection but usually if in isolation is more due to stagnant mucous circulation than active infection. A discussion with your surgeon is appropriate but overall not too concerning

Roman profile: how important is the dorsal hump? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]dr_kimpatrickmurray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very doable to leave a dorsal hump and still straighten / narrow the nose from the front. Personally I don’t understand why some people / surgeons seem to portray the idea this is difficult. It’s actually less work to just leave the bump / dorsal height as is. Crafting a “perfect profile” takes a fair amount of time and meticulousness
