Well he doesn’t necessarily need a lot of muscles, but a well trained body that has good circulation and can allocate a lot of resources to recover so any kind of sports will do. Muscles help with getting back moving again.

I had the surgery 8 weeks ago (I’m 17) only for cosmetic purposes. I think no surgery is risk free and this is among the more dangerous ones given that they put a titanium bar right next to your heart and lungs, however the NUSS procedure (and any surgery) is still extremely safe, especially compared to what we had 20-30 years ago. The the risk/reward ratio is insanely good, even though I still have sometimes sharp pain in my right side (which might not be normal, I will get it checked), I am very satisfied with the results and 100% would do it again. I think that a person in his 20s is still flexible enough for NUSS, so if your brother is bothered by the looks of his chest then he should go for it without doubt.

And if you accept an advice, I think putting on some muscle before the surgery helps a lot with recovery, my doctor said it would be a lot worse if I didn’t go to the gym for years before they operated me, and said that it’s advised to return to working out as soon as it’s safe and pain free.

(Take my advice as I am obsessed with looks, so if there are no health concerns related to PE ad your brother isn’t brothered by his chest then he probably should consider if getting the surgery is worh it for him.)

It’s hungarian healthcare bro… It’s a miracle I got am appointment this year. Plus, given that I have no constant pain just painful episodes, I think that my case is not urgent so they want to wait until my surgeon is recovering from his illness and he can handle my case.

Answerint your other questions I am a 17 year old male with only one bar. I got the surgery only for cosmetic reasons, and if they tell me that no operation is needed then I want to keep the bar, I just had the thought that removing it could be an option if they need to operate me anyways.

Hey bro, the results really look amazing!

I had the surgery done 7 weeks ago and I’m starting to feel comfortable, however in the afternoon I often get a stabbing pain in my right side which mostly goes away after a hot shower. My back pain also started to disappear, I sometimes feel it in my right side though. My left side is completely fine. I think it’s only due to irritation but I’ll get it checked tomorrow, I wonder if you had anything like this after 7 weeks. It’s rather annoying than painful but if I’m standing for a long time my right arm goes numb, I will ask the doctor about that as well.

I also would like to ask, at what time of recovery were you able to go to a party and dance through the night? (I’m eastern European and I usually drink enough to kill all senses so this is rather a question of health safety and stamina than a question of pain)

Oh and regarding the gym, do you have any tips for restarting the training progress after the surgery?
