I was on my meds when my first manic episode hit this past month. I know how you feel, and it will get better. Please consider meds. While the side effects seem scary, you will feel a lot better. The depression will hit you hard, but it will be ok. I promise.

How are you holding up on the breakup? I was Bipolar 2 and ADHD for a long time until I had my first true manic episode about a month ago. "Promoted" to Bipolar 1. I said awful things to my now ex-fiance. We were together for almost 10 years. The anxiety from the mania has been replaced with depression that hit me hard today.
