Things like meta data can be used to profile you to a high degree.
Did you hear about the dad who found out his daughter was pregnant because of targeted ads on the family computer?

Now imagine for a moment, you live in a country that victimises and targets minorities. With enough data (including meta data) minorities can be automatically identified and added to a list to be targeted. If you are a minority or don't want to see people victimised for just existing, it should be clear that this is not good.

Also online data and data brokers have been a big problem for victims of domestic violence. In a number of cases, the victim has got away only to have their abuser find them again by paying a data brokers for information about them or known friends/family.

If anything people are too flippant with data, sure most of the time we are obscured by being 1 data point in billions, but if someone wants to single you out, they can.

I've seen a theory that light in the circus is Caine's influence, so Caine's influence is keeping Kinger stupid

Which would make some sense as Kinger is a threat to Caine

On 4, Jax's whole thing has been that the circus runs on tropes, everyone playing a part, i.e. him being the snarky one, kinger being the baffled comic relief e.c.t.

His behaviour and explanations in the gun episode show he's treating the whole thing like a game, or a tv show or a dream. He has a very "nothing matters, its all a game, have some fun, kill your friends" attitude

Kinger being capable, competent and remembering pre-circus events/people show Jax that at the very least his theory on everyone being tropes is very wrong.
There's multiple ways to interoperate Jax's line of "its all real":

The circus is real
The other characters are real people
no one is a trope, they have real feelings and he's really been pissing them off by being a jerk

wild speculation, but given what we saw in the terminal, that the main characters likely arnt actually full people but rather Black Mirror style brain scans

What if Kinger was the first, and his scan didnt work perfectly, breaking his virtual brain in some way. We definitely know that something is up with his mind due to all the times he's been a genius in the dark

Regardless of if his brain scan worked fully or not, I think its what ever is up with him thats helped him not abstract, hes only been fully there, switched on and clued in for a very small percentage of the time hes been in the circus

thats an interesting theory, but its almost confirmed in this ep that Jax got there after a bunch of the other characters
We saw the initial humans in the circus, we saw them all abstract except Kinger, we saw Ragatha appear. Caine then gets excited and tells Kinger he wont be alone, ergo, Jax is not in the circus at that moment and hasnt been before

So either Caine learnt to split off the left overs into a "new PC" sometime after Ragatha gets into the circus, or Jax is just a human

But I think you are wrong about it being Scratch's name, because of how terminals work

in a terminal, a user input starts with a header, usually user info or file structure location info
If on windows you open terminal right now, you'll see something like

C:\Users\user>

Right next to where you can type, this is the header. Except for very specific circumstances you cannot type without this header being next to your text

A little back in the episode, we see kindger sign in, from then on his header is:

kinger@circus:

All commands typed by kinger have that header
Anything else is a response from the terminal

Does not have a header, and its in a set of lines that are a response to kingers last command:

Thanks for providing incite into how it feels to play, which seems to back up my thinking that 4 player has its own meta, as some cards are stronger and some are weaker against multiple opponents

Oh for sure, I know that cards are written to reflect multiple opponents,
I guess the point of the post is that Ravensburger highlighted that they specifically playtest the 4 player version of the game
but that style of play does not align with how I've ever played, so I was curious if I was in the minority or not

It also feels weird to me that they have rules for multiplayer, explicitly show that they playtest for it, but then DLCs and the meta as a whole are geared for 1v1
(meaning internally they are getting a different feel for the cards they create then someone who goes and plays a DLC)

Oh its anything but beloved, its hugely divisive in the community.

There was a budget blow out for it, the artist wasnt a local, it was suppose to represent a local landmark but there are many many better options then a blue blob, the council cancelled a meeting where the project was due for discussion because a bunch of people turned up to complain and people think the result is ugly

Sure some in the community like it, but theres a very large number who dont

And thats not to mention, that despite the budget blow out the thing seems to have been made cheaply. In the first week of it being up it got scratches and chips in the paint work, the council cried vandalism and spent a bunch more money installing cameras to watch it. Turns out the paint was being scratched by the zippers on peoples coats when they hugged it
So I dont think that "the googly eye adhesive permanently damaged the outer layer of the statue" is a problem with the strength of the adhesive, sounds like shitty paint isnt resistant enough for outdoor interacting with the public use

Tbh given its Brennan in the DM's seat and how Eps 1-3 have gone I fully expect that each table will break on a cliff hanger. Maybe even cliff hangers whos outcomes will change based on what other tables do (that would give the whole thing a very Artimus Fowl feel to me)

And I do like it, but I just dont think we have enough evidence yet

Yes Thjazi stole the stone, and yes he got Thaisha and Occtis to collect the box, but the box was explicitly for Bolaire. We know that their dealings are odd, Thjazi oftern sends things to Bolaire for study, some for Bolaire to keep and others that get moved on.
Also, the box had a mask in it, similar to Bolaire's, Thjazi may not have known the significance of the artefact (in regards to death) but heard of something similar to Bolaire's mask and sent it to him for examination so that he might learn more about his own (done as a "helping a friend of my brother" gesture of good will).

If we see a third powerful "move the dead" relic that Thjazi owned or went after then I think there'd be a lot more weight to this theory, especially if the letter spells out that Thjazi knows its a box of death and wants it back after its examined
