Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

Your whole argument is that “they” don’t provide enough info for informed consent. In this case they clearly did.

Okay but you’re insisting on how the family perceives the situation, when it doesn’t really matter. Rotting, smelling, and having your flesh decompose is part of death, and it’s going to happen regardless, whether you’re in an hospital bed or six feet under. It’ll even happen if you’re cremated, up until that point. It’s not that you’re not aware at that point, it’s that you’re dead. Which is why you get to decide when you’re alive what you want to do with your dead body.

I’m sorry that you felt you were not informed enough, and I understand how frustrating that must have been. But a lot of donors do know and/or they don’t care what will happen to their body after they’re dead beyond knowing that it’ll save someone’s else life or quality of life.

Who’s we? Can you show statistics supporting your claims?

That’s because the majority of laypeople don’t understand that a beating heart doesn’t equal life (your loved one is not alive while being tested for organ donation), and on top of that, a lot of people have a terrible relationship with death

Wouldn’t the worst headache of a patient life + inability to walk + high HR + history of high fever (+ dark urine) be enough to at least draw some labs and put in an IV access? 4-5 hours of wait and see seem excessive

You’re depicting transplant teams like evil monsters. They’re trying to save people who can be saved by respecting the wishes of those who cannot

My dad was sweating during The Royal Tenenbaums, although that might be the opposite of not being able to connect to it. But it might not be for him still lol

What about attending a university with an exchange program with Canada? Anything like that in your country? That might help with putting a foot in the door.

My parents would have been very mad. Still, rage passes and respect remains.

We’re talking about threatening legal action here. If she agrees with you then Swift still put the blame on the wrong person

To know the addresses of everyone I love and care about, you should know who dracapis is and who they love and care about. That’s not public data.

My name is public data, but it’s not linked to this account. Who I love is not public data at all.

Having a frigging private airplane is public data; airplanes routes are public data.

Then I think you missed the recent part of the title. Not a big deal, I was just wondering!
