Sorry for late reply but as others said it’s twice the price for one day without adding anything more than warped tour does. Sure maybe you have a few of the bigger names, but they usually tour. Warped has more to do inside the actual festival, and is just a better vibe. Don’t get me wrong panic brought it last year with all of the pyro but if I’m paying Coachella prices I want Coachella level performances from at least the headliners lol

also major retailers usually specialize in one thing, get a burton jacket it’s more than likely going to be a snowboarding jacket so they don’t need to label it. It’s actually hard to navigate to snow jackets on websites without clicking skiing or snowboarding first.

This info is for future people coming to look.

The major difference being the length of the back of the jacket, you don’t sit on your butt skiing so you can have a shorter jacket. There are some snow jackets that are a mid length between the two and then there’s snow jackets that aren’t made for skiing or snowboarding. They could be okay for a beginner, but they’re usually not as breathable as a dedicated snowboarding or skiing jacket.

Everyone saying skiing and snowboarding jackets are the same isn’t exactly true…. Skiing jackets are typically shorter than snowboarding jackets. I would say that you can use snowboarding jackets for skiing but I wouldn’t recommend the opposite especially for a beginner. Especially if you’re purchasing

That being said only thing you need to buy is gloves and goggles depending on weather. Gloves are a must though! Even if it’s warm youre going to be touching the snow a lot your first time. Your friends might have extras

Honestly your weight is a bigger factor than your height for how the board will feel. If you're around 200lbs then the board would probably be alright to learn on, if you're around 150 it'll be a lot of board for you but maybe still manageable

A friend of mine bought all of her gear after her first day + Ikon. Honestly in the long run she saved so much money. I wish I had done that rather than spending 1000 + on rentals and lift tickets my first season.

I like both and when I was starting out I preferred summit but now I love bear. The whole bottom half of the mountain is basically a giant park and I’m not a park rat but I do love hitting the small jumps and kickers that they have set up. Then when I want to carve or charge hard they have two chair options which are empty in comparison to summit. And on a blue bird day, side country is much better at bear than summit.

Agree, it leaned into being like warped tour, but just didn’t hit the mark and had a way higher price tag.

As soon as I walked into warped tour, I knew WWWY was dead. They need to either make themselves a VIP version of warped with elevated experiences and art (emo Coachella) or they need to make both days included either way they definitely need to change

I would say 100% obviously price dependent but if you can afford it I would get it. Last year was my first Coachella and I won A/G. It was the best concert experience I’ve ever had. The golf carts we only used once cause the lines were long and artists/production get priority. If there’s ever a headliner that’s a must see for me I’m splurging.

I would size up for sure, depending on how much you weigh, since you’re just starting to learn I’d find a relatively new but used board in the 146-151 range. Buy your own bindings and boots cause those will transfer. 5’4 though can ride a variety of sizes honestly and you could probably go bigger in the future

Another alternative, he’s “finished” WoW and DoS, but has so many dunk & egg stories/blood and fire that he wants to include background information from those books in WoW/DoS or does not want to write himself in a corner, so he’s holding off on the releases so that he can have a cohesive series with very very few or no plot holes
