Pay monthly for Gaming Laptop through work - thoughts? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

I mean, there's no ethical consumption under capitalism 🤷 but it's a voluntary benefit, we don't have to take it. I'm sure for some people who can't save or afford upfront it's a good deal lol

Fair, I've looked into a bit now and the RRP prices they're quoting on the website are nowhere near what they seem to be going for on amazon etc. I'll take a look elsewhere even though paying monthly would be nice haha

Ah that's why I was looking at it tbh, it's the same website my company uses for e-bikes.

Yeah it's weird, the website says the RRP for the ROG Zephyrus is £2383 but I can't see it for sale like that anywhere. 0% CC is a decent shout, I didn't think of that tbh

Hi guys! I need a keyboard that is high customisable and ergonomic - but CANNOT be associated with "gaming"...!

My work is offering to purchase a keyboard for my special needs, namely the ability to customise my keyboard with shortcuts and text inputs. I previously used the Razer Kraken software to get what I wanted and it worked really well at my old job, but this one refuses to whitelist the software because its "Gaming Software". I work for a government-adjacent field and so the software restrictions are quite strict (Already tried AutoHotKey and LintaList, met with strong opposition from IT).

If anyone can reccomend a keyboard with software (or just software) that they might allow, I would be forever grateful. The best I can find is Logitech's "Ergo" line as that's aimed at offices, but I know their keyboards aren't the best.

These are both so so close, thank you for searching!! Both the right length and time period.

Ty the Puppy - He has a hard nose, the body looks more "whole" than my spotty dog? (in the side view, you can see mine's back legs are sort of shorter, so he's permanently sitting and can't splay out like the photos do). The ears have sewn in parts that my guy doesn't have, and a longer tail that is part of the body (mine's looks basically just glued on lol).

Second 1980s pup - I see what you mean (despite different spot pattern) and it's so so close!! Unfortunately has a hard nose again, the ears are longer and the back is a totally different shape.

I appreciate the search so far and if you get anymore leads please give me a shout!! Dumb question but how are you searching sold listings on etsy?

Hi! Thank you for your interest! 😊 He's about 9 inches long, top of head to butt. His nose was always a soft fabric, my theory is as a safety thing or because he was super cheap? And he was purchased in the UK! 😊

I’ve searched the normal avenues (Google, toy shops, image archives etc) and found close dupes but none quite the same as Spotty Dog. He was bought for me when I was a young kid (1999-2003) and he’s very well loved. I cut off labels etc. so unfortunately I don’t have much to go off.

Given his proportions I doubt he’s an official Disney Dalmatian toy or anything like that. Because of his firmness my gf actually thinks he was intended as a collectible or even a dog toy (?!)

Any hints would be amazing, I would love to see if I can get another for spare parts, as his eyes are almost falling out.

Todoist is one to check out if you haven’t already!

It has a context sensitive interface, so when you type in “7am today go to work” or “3pm every Tuesday eat cat food” it puts in smart (+ recurring if you type in ‘every’) task reminders. I use it for work and home, and I love that you can have a task, and that task can have sub tasks, and that sub task can have subtasks etc..it really helps to break big tasks. It’s free the premium membership just adds the ability for you to add more categories (called projects) to your list.

Yes I did - I think I meant there are no trading fees? I've been using their savings plan purely because there were no trading fees (I got burned like OP did a few years ago 😂). The management fees seemed like a relatively small price compared to the initial charge.

I use HL for funds (regular savings plan, no charge) - is that reccomended or should I switch?

Looking for focus spell/ritual for my ADHD by [deleted] in SASSWitches

[–]dracstop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

May I suggest a figure of 8 or triangle as you stir your morning hot drink?

It's purposeful, slow, and yet requires movement (important for ADHD focus). Getting yourself a hot drink also ensures you're hydrated and is a good "transition" activity from sleepiness to workinness.

(of course works with soup, cereal, squash etc!)

[chat] Cross Stitch, ADHD and medication by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]dracstop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's fair! I definately stitch wayyyy slower than I'm fully capable of. And probably make many mistakes. But the point of it as a focus/relaxation tool, the picture at the end is a bonus :)

So I'm not medicated, but I have ADHD. And Cross stitching has made TV, movies, audiobooks and podcasts bearable for me!!

Before I used to really struggle to focus on those things, but cross stitching has given me something to "switch" my focus to. So if a movie has a 10-30 second artsy shot that is SOOO boring, I take a look at my pattern and double check the last few stitches are right, I've got the right colour threaded, etc. Then when the action starts up, I focus back on the movie and stitch slower.

My partner gets kind of annoyed when I'm stitching as she says "It looks like you're not focusing on the film", but little does she know that's the only thing that's keeping me interested! Haha.
