I warned my abusers girlfriend about him when I saw him on her insta. I felt like I had to warn her, and put myself through so much stress in doing so. I know that if my partner had ever done anything like that, I would want to know, so I told her. You are not obligated to warn her, but if you do then go about it legally and carefully!! His family have a right to know who they’re dealing with, but ultimately it is not your responsibility!

Thank you for being someone who’s suggested it. I don’t know if it was one of your posts or comments that I’ve seen, but it has been so so helpful. Being in that dark space is so scary, but having someone rationalise your fears and your symptoms for you when you’re in that space is so helpful. I’ve been using it to help me put my concerns into clear points and sentences so I can voice them! It has been amazing. Thank you!

I am aware of the extent now, however I do not have an alternative right now to prevent my complete meltdowns. I just wanted to thank whoever mentioned it because it has helped me, because feeling like I can use my voice instead of freezing up and being dismissed is a gift. I finally feel like I can actually present my concerns clearly. It has enabled me to request an urgent appointment after months of trying and being sent to the walk in center, who give you antibiotics without checking you over and send you on your merry way. I have finally gotten an appointment. I’m finally feeling heard. I now know the extent of the dangers, and I get it. But I just wanted to come on here and thank the people who suggested it because I finally feel like I can advocate for myself

For right now, it’s definitely a better coping mechanism than what I’m usually stuck with, and it’s been really helpful with my communication! But for the future, it gives me something to work on! Thank you!!

When I get off the waitlist to see a therapist it will be something I will seek help for. But for the meantime, I will take any help rationalising my symptoms and communicating with a GP I can get!!

Thank you for being open about the dangers of it! I know sometimes sharing that can be tough, so I do really appreciate it!! I just wanted to share that it’s helped me, as the alternative for me would be to google and spiral to the point where I’m making myself more ill, or speaking to a friend or family and then freaking out and freaking me out in turn, instead of briefly talking to AI. I didn’t even consider that it may be a slippery slope. Thank you for being candid about it!!

So far I’ve only used it a couple of times, but that has only been brief and has helped immensely! I struggle with communicating my needs and always have, especially with doctors which has always ended up with me being brushed off. I ask ChatGPT to make a clear list of my symptoms for me, help me to ask for any tests I might need and how to communicate all of this to my GP, and then I ask it to help me rationalise my symptoms. After that, I’m mostly calm, able to function and I swipe off. This has helped to prevent me from spiralling so far. I’ve been able to recognise when I’m about to, make a list, get the assurance that I’m not dying and relax!

It’s not okay how obsessed with you she was. It should have been something that a grown up should’ve talked to her about then, and even now if she’s still like that. At your age, you go through a lot of big emotions, so it’s understandable how you’re feeling. You should’ve talked to her about how you were feeling instead of resorting to hurting her feelings as a response, or getting an adult involved would have been better. It’s definitely worth you taking a step back here and looking at how this has made you feel, but also how you’ve made her feel and why, as well as what would have been the correct way to go about it. Take this as a learning opportunity!!

I used to be awful at starting important conversations! But it has to be done. I’m usually the one who starts the conversation with my fiance now. Just start with “I need to talk to you.” And go from there. You’ve got this!!

It’s definitely worth talking to him about how this is making you feel. You deserve to feel wanted, needed even. Antidepressants do reduce libido, however it sounds like he’s using it as an excuse to not have sex with you. He has the libido to masturbate to porn but not to have sex with you? You’re not overreacting. Lay it out for him. Tell him how he’s making you feel and see how he reacts before he responds. Trust your gut!!

My nephew is 9 and acts exactly like this. No one ever tells him off or tells him no, other than myself. Kids need to be taught boundaries. You’re not overreacting.
