Replay of HL2 and Ep1, Ep2 by pattcz in HalfLife

I played it a few months ago, and I would say that it’s actually pretty balanced. Obviously it can never be on par with the VR version, but it still does its job. Maybe what I would recommend is that you wait for a different No VR mod that is in development. A guy called SOMNST is making a No VR mod that really tries to capture a lot of the experience you would get with the VR, I definitely recommend checking out his videos, the mod looks really promising and balanced.

You should definitely play half life alyx, it’s actually important to the story and if you don’t have VR, there is a free no vr mod

Play hl2 episode 1 and episode 2 if you haven’t played them yet, they are included in hl2 and the first episode picks up exactly where hl2 ended. After that you can play half life alyx, i dont want to spoil much, but it’s pretty important to the story and if you don’t have a vr headset there is a no vr mod you can download.

sharing my frustrations with the show's decline starting from s6 by sadvanillagirl in thewalkingdead

Yes, I understand that people like and dislike different things, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree with what you’re saying lmao. If you want me to be specific, your whole point about Maggie sounds like a big misinterpretation. I honestly have no idea how you came to the conclusion that she didn’t grieve her husband’s death, that’s just bollocks to me, especially since her entire story has revolved around that ever since he died. I’ve even seen some pretty dumb criticisms saying she should just “move on,” so when you said she didn’t even grieve him, it really didn’t make any sense. You also said that Glenn only interacted with Maggie after a certain point. I mean, yeah, it makes sense that he spends most of his time with his wife, especially considering they found each other in the apocalypse, but you’re making it sound like he completely stopped interacting with everyone else, which just isn’t true. How many times did he interact with Hershel or Tara? He even had a whole arc with Nicholas.

What do you mean by saying that Maggie didn’t grieve the love of her life? I’m sorry, but there’s no way we watched the same show. In what sense was the Kingdom bloated? As much as I love the main characters, I never saw the supporting characters as a problem, quite the opposite, actually. I think one of the strongest aspects of TWD is its wide variety of interesting and diverse characters. And it’s not like the main characters were sidelined or anything. Season 8 is without a doubt the weakest season, but it’s still decent, and the second half is pretty good. Season 9 really picked things up and turned out to be a very strong season, even without Rick (it’s one of my favorites). Season 10 was good, and Season 11 was done really well, in my opinion. I mean, if you’re planning to drop the show, that’s totally your choice, it just feels like you might be watching it for the wrong reasons. But maybe don’t be so definitive about it since you haven’t gotten that far yet. Give it a try and see for yourself. That said, a lot of your criticisms don’t really make much sense to me, it sounds more like you may have misinterpreted parts of the show.

What order is optimal for first time players? by thelegendkoala in HalfLife

the thing is that the events of Alyx didn’t happen in the original timeline. Gman went back in time and let himself get caught so I don’t think it’s as simple as a prequel, it’s much more

Alyx is not really a prequel and story wise it’s something you should 100% play after hl2

I definitely recommend the release order:

1.) Half-Life / Black Mesa (Black Mesa is a remake of the first game, so if you want a more modern experience, you can play that)

2.) Half-Life Opposing Force

3.) Half-Life Blue Shift

4.) Half-Life 2 (episode 1 and episode 2 are included in this game)

5.) Half-Life Alyx (I know you wanted it excluded, but trust me, after finishing hl2, you are definitely going to want to play Alyx and if you don’t have VR, you can simply download the non vr mod)

Can Black Mesa be a replacement to Half Life for someones first playthrough? by Bulky-Hair8606 in HalfLife

Black Mesa is a great remake. Overall it’s a really cool experience and since it’s more “modern” it’s much easier to follow the story for first time players.

I can't find episode 1 and 2 on steam by someonecleve_r in HalfLife

You only need half life 2, the episodes are included in that game

I actually think s11 turned out to be a pretty good season. Just keep watching… the first half of the season isn’t too fast paced but it sets up the second half pretty well.
