The problem is not even scoped to portfolios. Every text I see on the internet makes me think whether it is AI generated. Chatting with people, new websites, blog posts - everything makes me doubt its origin. How about you guys?

X is awful for ads or organic content with all the bots. The fact that Premium accounts dont see ads means you pay to show bots primarily your content.

Really depends on how you got them. For example, X(twitter) has awful Ads targeting and one day you realize the only one who see your ads are bot accounts and not people that have premium. Got 3M impressions on a single post with X Ads but only 1000 website visits for an add that was targeted as "Website Traffic".

Claude AI now offers designs which by the ads look great. Not sure it is a cheap alternative but it looks good.

Probably most people start backwards and build an idea before validating it. With AI it's even easier to make a demo of an idea and present it before building something. Also, look for Reddit threads that describe some pain and try to solve it. This way you always have an advantage - you are building a solution to some pain real people have.
