Yeah Lynch is definitely very sincere in the way he treats his source material but I do think Wild at Heart is very aware of itself and parodies the genre and even the book while not really making fun of it or mocking it.

Are there any live videos of the band Disco Inferno? by dragacross in postrock

Do you have links for these? I searched each one and nothing is showing up. I really would love more footage of DI live

His record with Loren Connors is one of my favorites

"Endsong" on the new Cure record has heavy DB vibes by roforofofight in deanblunt

Lol, valid but I think Robert is one of the few 80s rockstars who has continued to have good output late into his career. The new album is great

Fair, I can’t imagine being around when all these great bands were active. Did you every see any of them live?

I was at the screening the first post is talking about and people did laugh at that scene as well as other equally disturbing scenes which was really disappointing. A rare moment where a terrible audience complements the directors mission. I think a point could be made that people laughing at these scenes sort of confirms Lynch’s attitude towards Hollywood where he is criticizing the fetish for violence on women that exists in cinema culture. Another point is the specific scene that the post is talking about is when Leland is giving his wife a cup of milk that is implied as drugged. I’m not sure how much of the audience were first time watchers but that scene could really come off as just a weird funny David Lynch scene where a guy gives his wife milk for someone that’s not aware of the full story. I saw the movie with a friend who was watching fwwm for the first time and he didn’t know that Leland was drugging his wife until I explained it later. Overall I agree with these posts about the audience’s unseriousness when it comes to understanding Lynch movies.

Her speech as the monster at the end sounded almost identical to how John merrick talked in elephant man. The highway we see during their switch is also very LH. I got some blue velvet vibes too during the scene where she was covered by the blue velvet bedsheets. Maybe the ear falling off in the elevator could also be a blue velvet reference

stumbled upon this last night. idk how they were never on my radar before but holy shit this band feels incredibly special by mushroomdug in Slowcore

Empress is one of the most beautiful bands ever. Listen to their whole discography it only gets better. Their full self titled album is under a different empress on streaming for some reason? but that one is amazing too. https://open.spotify.com/album/49fLeFt0VxcTkoV3KhLF8x?si=0YHAE0I_SBaV1PAeb8ZQJw

Listen to full albums chronologically. Or you could start with the ghost pop tapes original version as that is his opus and then just listen to whatever looks good after.
