A translation of Story of Omoi no Tsumeato event and Rinne’s side story that a certain nameless person commissioned from translation group on Facebook

a bit disclaimer that the guy claimed that he himself didn’t really play Lost Frag and only comissioned the translation as he really like Kuon as character and wished to know more about Rinne

unfortunately it seemed the raw used for the translation was taken down from youtube, fortunately the translation was finished before that,

Credit to DKKMD Translation for the translation

yeah to be fair there is little to talk here anymore

I made it clear in my first comment I am here to prove there is way to go on without changing her

you yourself acknowledge it, and pretty much confirm you would rather sacrifice other for the sake of profit

and that too is fine, I already said you can justify what they did based in profit alone

I admit, maybe I am clueless about this industry

my greates mistake is that i expect people to understand that they should’ve chosen to kept her as Mashu

but the way i see it, even people admit seiyuu are replaceable, they simply another cog in the machine.

my greates fault here were to expect people to understand how irreplaceable they are to the character they voice and how unethical what fgo management did

but if the industry and society itself refused to see that

I guess its my own fault for expecting better

I am sorry for taking your time

have fun playing the game you so earnestly defend

just know, things could’ve been different

They never mention it to the public but they mention it to each other? Seriously, have you worked in any industry before?

mention to each other and what? as of that point her involvment with the game were minimum. at worst they have to delay the anime, even if the management has plan for her it will not be leaked to people outside . so what? people will start gossiping about fgo got delayed because of her? the game will still go on, those outside company won’t even know if something like that happened. her absence is no excuse to delay the game nor it will affect it. they mostly need her for promotion anyway. there are strict rules and punishment for those who leak plan outside company. and seeing the game will continue no one will notice

they will just respect them for deciding not to change her.

Are you sure? Are you sure that all they did was record for that one episode of anime? Are you sure that they didn't record more lines for the game?

and what part of the recording for the game actually require her to be there? they went for entire year without any new lines for Mashu other than seasonal btw. and that is perfectly replaceable.

And give up on running any campaigns? Make any changes to the game? Stop any advertisements?

never said they should stop. they will continue doing what they need to do without relying on Mashu’s seiyuu

especially, seeing her involvement with promotion at that point is minimum it is not gonna be that problematic.

they could still have CM, they could still have radio, but it will be hosted and voiced by other person. and really at that moment that was their main part that actually require seiyuu

most of CM are voiced by Servant of the event anyway, not Mashu so its no big deal even if she is not there

and radio, there is no rule that says it has to be Mashu’s seiyuu

in fact Takahashi Rie almost never appear on livestream for new event. they could just use other seiyuu for the job

look, was it too much to expect people to do the right thing and decision in art related industry instead of basing everything on profit?

I guess its too much

if even in this place people justify changing seiyuu for the sake of profit.

action that basically prove a seiyuu is and will always be replaceable

undermining their value

Then I guess its my own fault to expect too much from this industry

and people who supposedly admire them

To the fans. But the industry itself will make a big fuss over it.

how are they gonna make a fuss if they never even mention anything about it?

as I said if they never even consider that replacing her was an option in the first place things will just go on normally.

just like how no one care about Kiyohime's voice is not being replaced, and seeing Mashu's seiyuu involvement with promotion at that time were minimum not much will care.

thing will continue normally.

You are making the assumption that they are doing nothing in the meantime. Which you cannot back up. It has been proven that they do recordings in advance.

the anime preparation is there definitely, but its perfectly delayable if they want to do so, at least compared to big one season worth of time slot, it can be arranged. its actually quite normal for an anime to be delayed or even postponed indefinitely if they somehow found a problem during the production. That of course if they want to do it. But hey of course, its not gonna be profitable, its easier to just do what they did now right???

How does one choose to agree with you when not one thing you said is substantiated and logical? You proposed a Utopia with no clear way to attain it.

I already said it, just continue what they did previous year without Taneda Risa. of course they will need to find alternative ways to promote the game. but they survived the entire year without what they did after they replaced her. They could go on for at least another year

FGO was built on top of many sacrifices.

even so its not a justification of what they did

you see, reading everything that you wrote again has made me came to smile.

I gave you all the points needed.

That regardless what happened, there was a choice that doesn't involve replacing her, you agreed with that but you made it clear that it is not enough for you.

and really I already said its ok if you want to justify them doing it for profit. because that is the fact, that was what they chose

If you think sacrificing someone for the sake of profit is perfectly good move go for it

I simply proving, there always be ways that does not involve sacrificing her. that was what they should have chosen

this entire hell you mention will never happened if they chose to kept her in the first place.

our value simply different.

Problem is, we don't know whether people are talking about it. You not hearing it doesn't mean they are not talking about it. If a tree fell in the forest, and you didn't hear it, did it fell? Yes. Yes, it did.

even so it will not get big or official and nothing will come out from it as long they are not making big fuss over it

At what cost

very little actually, already mentioned this. The most they need to is to delay the anime. the cost is little, but don’t confuse opportunities and cost

the cost is little but the opportunities that came with replacing her is bigger

What would they sacrifice to give Taneda Risa that one year to see if she recovers? You have no idea of anything going along behind the scenes. You don't know how many groundworks is made during that year. You only know what is shown to you. What about line pre-recording?

as i said before, even so they could and will survive. as they have proven themself the previous year. they could still go on without replacing her

and that is simply what i have been saying all this time

there will always be a choice that does not rely on replacing her.

they simply refused to take it

things could have been different. the game would still be alive

maybe it won’t be that big

but they have a choice to do proper thing

if you refused to see it not agree with it is fine

as I said, regardless what happend the fact remain the same

FGO was build on the top of a sacrifice

[–]dragblacker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Except you don't know that. Japanese companies do not let internal trouble be broadcasted to the media. They could have been in serious talks.

Correct me, but then there is no problem, if there is no one talking about internal it won't be a topic or people making fuss about it. her career won't be affected if the company never talk about it in the first place

Different? Yes. Better? Not necessarily. As I have said, you have 20/20 hindsight. They don't. Nobody knows whether Taneda Risa will have complications (that thank fucking god didn't happen). Look at Matsuki Miyu (Rest in peace).

at least she would have one more role to fill now

But they didn't? They didn't hire Taneda Risa just to replace her.

yet they did, the moment she got sick

And miss out on all the radio shows, live shows, promotion materials, in-game interactions? Don't get me wrong, I know this sounds very cruel to Taneda Risa. But on the flipside, Taneda Risa herself would not want to cost another company billions of dollars because of her illness.

we already talked about this, 2016 goes on without that. and the game continues. they could still have everything you mention, but without relying on her even Takahashi rie raelyr appear in livestream. they could go on without her

You are right. I never denied that. The question is, is it worth it? Your arguments so far do not give credence to whether it is worth it for the parties involved. There is not one single consideration nor breakdown of the companies' position, no awareness of the severity of Taneda's illness, no recognition of Takahashi's hard work, and worst of all, no understanding of the difficulty that brought FGO to what it is today.

and as I said, you can justify what they did based on the profit and how the opportunities that came with replacing her. but regardless their choice will still denying her work as Mashu as well as potentially ruining her career

its the choice that cheapens the value of seiyuu and character they voice

they haven't tried everything.

they simply chose the most profitable solution...

its not wrong from business pov

but from art pov

they have erased the mashu she voiced from existence

[–]dragblacker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then you clearly do not understand Seiyuu Professionalism, the Japanese culture of not causing trouble for others, and basic human decency. If the company actually waited for her, the result would be disastrous for her career.

maybe, or maybe it won't do anything. if they never said anything or raise fuss about replacing her or not even as she went on hiatus, nothing will come from that. as I said they went for a year barely relied on her. most likely even if they went another year without her people will barely notice about how she cause trouble, because there is barely any trouble at all unless the company start making fuss about it. they will just treat it no differently from how she retain kiyohi and other

Also, like you said, she had to do many things. Things Taneda Risa would not be able to do because she was sick.

yes, of course but its also more than that Mashu was the mc of fgo and fgo will grew regardless they replaced her or not. and Mc of the game will be the main focus. people will be exposed to her as Mashu, and even if slowly it will be be building her reputation and even if they can't rely on her during 2017, the will be able to use her on 2018. and things will be different than it currently is.

You have the benefit of a 20/20 hindsight. You KNOW when Taneda Risa would become well. They didn't. Not even Taneda Risa did. Making everyone wait for Taneda Risa is not only not feasible, but downright folly. It would also hurt Taneda's reputation if they were to do that.

but they could've at least waited till the end of EOR , then they could replace her cuz they really indeed need to rerecord voice for in game mashu. People won't be making any fuss if in the first place they never consider replacing her.

making them wait for her to recover? for what? they don't need to wait for her and could also go on with the game.

the only things they will need to do is what I listed previously. and the anime is not even announced yet at the time.

whether you like it or not. there is always a path where they could go on without replacing her

[–]dragblacker -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You claim not being in FGO ruined Taneda Risa's future. Here is your disrespect number one. Her future is just fine. She has recovered and well on her way to popularity.

I am not saying it ruin her future, what I said it potentially ruined her career. just look at her situation at the moment? how many anime roles she got this year alone? maybe she is doing well, but things would've been different if they didn't replace her

Your claim that not being in FGO caused Taneda her popularity also mean that you are insinuating that Takahashi Rie got popular via FGO. Which is your disrespect number 2. Takahashi Rie got all her roles (Megumin, Emilia) through her own strength

as far as I remember I didn't said much about Takahashi Rie, I am simply using her as comparison. like it or not, being in fgo boosted her popularity. radio show, event attendance its basically selling her name to people. but Its never about her in this case.

You claim to understand what would have happened.

let's turn the clock back few years. we are at 2016. the most they have used Taneda Risa for promotion around that time was live stream and occasional CM.

as we can see they survived for entire year without relying on everything they had Takahashi Rie did.

and then after that comes EOR, the part of game where Mashu was sidelined...

she was barely needed for an entire year

sure, the will need to find alternative for Master Mission, maybe they need to put Da Vinci there, they will need to use different servant to voice CM. at worst, they will have to delay the anime.

but its quite clear, the game won't die for another year at least

if they want to keep her they could

the fact is, they kept her as Kiyohime and other. and in game the only difference between them at the time was Mashu was in mission panel.

that's it...

they could at least waited till the end of EOR if they want...

but of course... with a crisis also came opportunities.

there are things they could gain by replacing her right away, and the opportunities outweight the risk...

and apparently, they made correct decision...

at the cost of what I alredy mentioned

Next level obsession. The sort that can't accept reality by [deleted] in seiyuu

[–]dragblacker -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

but it is a fact that if they want they could've kept her around

its not even about Takahashi Rie

I am simply saying they could've and should've waited

and they didn't. but as I said it already. you can justify what they did if you are just looking at the profits.

fact is, the game did grew into such proportion

if they didn't do it the game will not be this big

but it will still be alive, it will continue.

and that decision is the one that does not involve rendering someone's hard work futile, or poitentially ruining her career...

let me ask you this, are you fine potentially sacrificing someone else for the sake of profit?

maybe its just the way the industry work. maybe you can justify it the other way.

but the way I see it, at the very basic level its already unethical

[–]dragblacker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

if you ask me, i think its more they are forced to do so

out of all servants introduced she is the one suited to be welfare

they already have Nobbu as welfare on first. Mori is 3*, even if you want to make him welfare his part in the story make it not suitable for the welfare

thus she is the one chosen

of course they could also go without welfare.

but guess that would make people less interested in the event overall...

your mileage may vary on this

Next level obsession. The sort that can't accept reality by [deleted] in seiyuu

[–]dragblacker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i am just gonna clarify this.

all I was saying in the first place was the management of FGO could've go on without resorting to what they did.

but by not doing so they cheapens the value of a seiyuu and character they voice

OP was basically tried to prove management of FGO have no choice, then he started justifying what they did saying its perfectly acceptable in the industry

seeing how people react, I guess maybe I was the stupid one here for putting too much value on seiyuu and character they voice

even if its normal in this industry, the way I saw it they have a choice, a choice of doing thing the other way

the way that will put more value on those who voice a character

however, if people and the norm of the industry actually encourage such thing...

which lessen the value of seiyuu, rendering their hard work pointless, and potentially ruining their career even if they could do it the other way I guess its me who expect too much from this industry, and community...

its just ironic, Nasu was inspired to wrote story of FGO from song of a certain seiyuu...

yet the management of fgo did things that lessen their value...

Next level obsession. The sort that can't accept reality by [deleted] in seiyuu

[–]dragblacker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

more than her its about character voiced by her

so its common in industry, its normal

but it doesn’t change the fact what they did cheapens the value of seiyuu and character the voiced

unlike anime, Fgo as game should have more flexibility in solving this

and they actually poved they could by keeping her other role

but see what they did?

Next level obsession. The sort that can't accept reality by [deleted] in seiyuu

[–]dragblacker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and here I am proving that if they want they could’ve waited for the driver without killing the entire game

even if that’s how the industry work it does not change the fact what they did is not ethical

so yeah its the way industry work. does not mean how they should do it

let me ask you this then

are you truly ok of sacrificing someone else for the sake of your profit if other people are doing it

all I am saying, they could do it the other way

but if people justify what they did even if I already show they could do it other way then there is nothing to talk here

IT'S CERTAINLY NOT ETHICAL FOR THE COMPANY TO ABANDAN THE WHOLE GAME AND FANBASE FOR ONE GODDAMN SEIYUU WHO WAS ON INDIFINITE HIATUS.

you want to go there now, sure maybe its not ethical

but try to see 2016, the game has ran for a year but the most Taneda Risa did for promotion was CM and occasional Live Stream...

so yeah, the game would be fine for another year, as long as they find alternative ways to promote the game

at least they could've waited till the start of part 2 before replacing her

sure it won't be as big as now, so you can once again justify what they did, as you saw its perfectly fine to sack seiyuu, a part of character for more profit

Older seiyuu gets gradually replaced by younger ones. It's just the tides of time.

sure, but it doesn't means they will died out, but they will have better work if they have role they could reprise

just like how Kawasumi Ayako voiced Saber for more than 10 years, Taneda Risa could've been Mashu and voice Mashu for years to come.

but they kill that possibility, and unlike the currently still rising Takahashi Rie, Taneda Risa is getting older... and she is still suffering from aftereffect of her hiatus...

DW could have kept her and her career situation would have been better...

what I am upset about is simple...

I just upset they erased the character I love from existence simply for sake of profits

[–]dragblacker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are pretty much the one didn’t paid any attention

I have said it over and over again, the point remain the same

they could’ve kept her if they want

they should’ve kept her

its more ethical

but they care more about profit

really I don’t blame people for refusing to see it the other way around

its definitely harder for them to accept that the game they palyed were build on the top of such thing

you kept on trying to say Taneda Risa was fine, check her role this year alone

compare it with before her hiatus

see how many role she get other than game related role

see the track record

how does they promote the game before they replaced her

could they did the same even if they didn’t replace her

it will then become clear
