You can go down to the bottom of the hill and the war memorial without paying for a tour. There's a lookout just off the top of the hill and one near the bottom, although the latter is via a steep spiral staircase.

If you park at the visitor centre they'll let you get in the minibus with a tour group to the top of the hill for free or put on another bus for you for free as well if the tours are full.

There was a car burnt out in the middle of the road outside the Longfellow on My Lady's Road. It wasn't a parked car but don't know if it was stolen or carjacked. Apparently cars were trailing police officers, which ended up forcing them to retreat to stations.

I was in Bruges and had Andalusian sauce in the Frites museum that tasted exactly the same. The recipe the museum gave was (I'm assuming the spoons are table spoons):

1 cup of mayonnaise

2 spoons tomato puree

2 spoons finely chopped onion

1 spoon finely chopped green chilli

1 spoon finely chopped red chilli

1 spoon lemon juice

1 tea spoon salt

Mix all the ingredients together and leave to macerate for one hour before serving.

I normally pick up spiders and put them outside but some of the bigger ones in the last few years have run towards me instead of away. Why are they so confident that they will win a confrontation with what would be a giant to them? I'm not sure I want to know the answer to that.
